Anyone been getting BLOOD MOON DOOMSDAY posts? I haven't but I had fully expected it. Seems like 2012-fatigue is still present with the conspiracy-minded new-ager crowd.

I would block this person, but they're good value for this thread.

See, I have but one friend on facebook who posts those dumb things regarding ex-servicemen getting no benefits yada, and nonsense scare stories about yada, and don't even start me on moneybags time.. I don't block him because its the only one and its sometimes interesting to know what's going on there. Bit like this thread.

Anyway, the latest one is a pic of various tablets with the warning "if your kid comes back from trick or treating with any of these don't let them eat them they are drugs and they will get poorly"

Because there's loads of people giving away drugs for free..

Mark G, Sunday, 27 September 2015 17:47 (eight years ago) link

also funny because, like, are parents seeing kids coming home on halloween, sacks bulging with tablets of all color, size, shape and numbering and just wishing there was a convenient place to identify the safe ones?

Welcome to the world of Knights & Brides, a fairytale kingdom with its hierarchy, intrigues, rivalry and, of course, romance. So, now imagine... You are a charming young lady or a noble knight.

The lady is running the household and the knight is fighting in jousts until one day they find each other and decide to play together for triumph and glory. That’s when the entire social potential of the game unfolds.

The bride learns to cook dishes for her brave knight to boost his strength in combat, while the knight dedicates victories to his lady and wins her glory. As your relationship grows in strength, the two will earn new titles, expand the estates, win new and develop previously conquered lands.

Find your mate in Knights & Brides and play happily ever after!

Knights & Brides is free to play. Some in-game items are available for purchase.

The bride learns to cook dishes for her brave knight to boost his strength in combat

The creator of Knights and Brides apparently hasn't read the chivalric literature. Brides hopped into bed with Knights and inspired them through plentiful sexing, including before marriage.

i have a faint memory of someecards.com being occasionally humorous or witty, around 2006-7ish? when did it morph into whatever the fuck it is now? maybe it was always that way?

anyone can make a card now so there's no quality control. not sure that was always the case

hmm, maybe i just had a facebook friend circa 2006ish that was posted them frequently and had exquisite someecards taste!

Some of the original ones were actually good, but once they opened the option up to the public it became a cesspool.

I think it's because they moved more and more to the "user generated" cards to the point that I don't even know if they do their droll original cards anymore. I do remember them being pretty funny originally.

Had a friend who used to get paid for doing those, so I know at one point they were being somewhat selective about it

Condescending Wonka is the worst. all my "lib"* friends use it

(most of my 'liberal' friends are 'theatre' liberals, meaning mostly moderate to semi-conservative people who vote democrat because they are poor and like gay people)

Hammer Smashed Bagels, Monday, 5 October 2015 16:08 (eight years ago) link

It is the worst, and Occupy Democrats is also the worst. It's the worst kind of weak-minded sarcasm -- "I don't have the guts to directly make a point so allow me to just rephrase what you're saying and mock it."

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Monday, 5 October 2015 16:10 (eight years ago) link

It's like (1) "So Hillary can't be president..." -- no, strawman, no one said that. (2) "Tell me again..." oh, so since there was also once a GOP scandal involving the same behavior, it's ok? Or are you saying both aren't ok? What do you actually think?

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Monday, 5 October 2015 16:12 (eight years ago) link

Not to mention up to his neck in text.

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Monday, 5 October 2015 16:12 (eight years ago) link

Yeah, I hate "ad hominem tu quoque" fallacies in general. I mean, we bitch enough when the right pulls that with their excessive "where's the OUTRAGE!" false equivalency bullshit, so let's not do the exact same thing pls.

Hammer Smashed Bagels, Monday, 5 October 2015 18:47 (eight years ago) link

I had no idea what Occupy Democrats was until a few months ago... What a waste. Like you say, copying the tactics of right-wing mouthbreathers is nagl

Nhex, Monday, 5 October 2015 19:33 (eight years ago) link

google tells me occupy democrats is the same guy as "being liberal" and addicting info. Which are both pretty horrible.
