Euler, how many Legendary Tokens did you open before getting SS?

lately it seems absolutely impossible for me to get any higher than top 100 in pvp, and even that is pretty tough. I used to get in the top 10 sometimes. :(

i suspect i'm doing well (top 50) in the current Simulator because a) nobody cares about She-Hulk or b) nobody bothered to level up their Doc Ock or Moonstone. or maybe i just lucked out and got into a crappy bracket. i haven't even been touching the top two nodes

All of the above, since I'm in 89th place after suboptimal clearing.

Yellow X-Force from my 10-pack, but little else of use. So many cover maxed (or nearly) 3*s now that I long a long list of characters waiting for iso. Fat Thor getting attention now, then either Doc Ock or Doom.

got needed covers for squirrel girl, scarlet witch, mystique and iron fist over the past two days; scrambling priorities.
i've been making sure that fewer cover 3 stars are constantly maxed and then eventually build up the whole army. it's not the smartest method but it gives me something to spreadsheet prioritize.
punisher, magneto, lazy thor cover/level maxed
Grey Black Widow, Spiderman, Doc Doom, Patch, Hulk, IM40, Loki, Psylocke, Daredevil all cover maxed and at level 141 or higher

for some reason, i STILL don't have a doc ock cover. Or Vision for that matter. Dunno what's up with that, think it's an algorithm intended to make me buy covers.

Level 140-ish does feel like the time when the 3*s become effective enough to tangle in PVP, with a 166 or two to lead the charge

Doc Ock has really grown on me lately. I was lucky to max his black early, which made him extraordinarily handy in PVE nodes that spew special tiles. His green and blue aren't too shabby, either. Situational, but when you need him, there's no one better.

no vision covers is probably an algorithm to keep you from not wasting a character slot, mpq lookin out for ya forks

with 10 covers for iron fist i figure now is the time they will fix his stats.

my conundrum now is: do I continue to put ISO into my 3-star roster (SO MANY COVER MAXED CHARACTERS thank u based Deadpool daily) or do I boost my 4-stars so I can beat the legendary node and build up that tier? I'm leaning towards the latter but do you know how viscerally unsatisfying it is to level Invisible Woman? PRETTY DAMNED UNSATISFYING

btw when the nerf Iron Fist, I will cry so much because holy shit is he amazing; my thought experiment team of IF/Luke Cage/Falcon has turned out to be incredible, especially if/when I can get early yellow matches.

btw is there any way to remove covers? for a second i thought an OBW purple was the last black i needed, and a second was all it took :(

don't worry about it: it's better to upgrade with whatever covers you have unless you are pumping in real money to buy covers with hp (note: do not do this) or buying covers with accumulated hp as opposed to buying roster slots (note: do not do this)
even if you sell the character, you get the same amount back in iso
and you can always change whenever you get a new cover

But no. No way to remove covers.

Dan, I'd start in with the 4*s, since I'm more than willing to let a bunch of the more useless 13-covered characters (Mohawk, Rags, Spidey) molder without ISO.

My IF/Cage are both under-covered, haven't been able to run them out yet. :( Loving Daken/Blade/Falcon though, it's my go-to when I just want to tear through all but the nastiest nodes.

it's good to max 3 stars still b/c getting up to 1000 in pvp is a good way to get 4 stars. my stock iceman + 240 cyclops + 240 loki permitted me to get 1000 & get an iceman. right now I'm pumping iso into lolbeast to compete well enough to get the 1000 Thing, since my 240 cyclops + 240 loki is on sight again & red bombs are still cash money.

need one more yellow cover to max falcon...

I cannot (read: refuse to) vie for 1000 in PVPs -- I guess because of how HP-expensive that is. Think the best I've ever done was 800 once or twice.

I didn't shield at all to get to 1000

but I did have to play a lot all in a row. it's a lot easier (for me) with 10 health packs now.

but it varies. even to get 800 in the scarlet witch tourney I bought health packs (200 cheaper than 1250 to buy the cover). but that's b/c I was up against a bunch of 290 scarlet witches. I've been surprised in the beast pvp how many 290 beasts there are.

what is slice 4?
and it's still hard for me imagine hitting 1000 in PVP - i think by some miracle i hit 800 once, and that was much, much grinding

When you first enter a PVP, you get to choose what start/end time you want to play in -- that's the slice.

yep I tried once, but I have him with just 2 black and that's about as bad a covering as you can have for soloing him.

otoh I was goofing this morning (euro time) in the last couple hours of the beast tourney, starting at about 600 points, and with my lolbeast at 120 (so ~220 buffed) + 240 cyclops + 240 loki (or 240 mystique, swapped a bit) I kept winning & winning, and I hit 1000 again! took my thing and ran w/o shielding b/c my doc oct is already 5-3-5 & while I'd prefer 3-5-5 I wasn't close to hitting top 5 or even top 25 at 1000. in fact in my bracket 1000 wasn't even top 50! lost ~200 pts before the end dropping me to 95, still over 800 though. I think a lot of people with strong 3 star rosters are seeing that if you want to make the 3->4 star transition 1000 in pvp is a good way to go. I made it to 1000 without fighting any 4 star dominated rosters; a couple of 270 xforces but with 240 cyclops those are no problem, just horde black.

yeah, my HB is 1 black, totally worthless for the fight
but yeah, i think the result of the Legendary rewards is that PVP has scaled up considerably, if you can't make top 25 with 1000 pts!

oh hey so I earned my first 10 pack! hi dere multiple wolverine/OBW/torch covers I don't need and 3* bullseye I don't want.

I can't do the legendary DPD with 1/2/1 Hulkbuster. Hulk can get down below 5000 health but then he can clap me to death.

For anyone else wondering if they can bust the Hulk:

A few quick comments for people attempting to beat this node with an underlevelled, undercovered IMHB.

Yes, the basic theory is that you deny green and red, and Hulk can't get his abilities off. However, the thing is that match damage from a level 270 Hulk will kill your underlevelled, undercovered IMHB most of the time, since he starts off with way more health than you, and does a lot more match damage than you. Your IMHB needs to be levelled enough to have sufficient health to make it through most of the match firstly (so you're probably looking around level 160 or so, at a guess, although I think some people have scraped by with less). Secondly, it helps to have a few blue covers, so you can mitigate that match damage (although you need to be careful when you use Hulk Proof, since you can accidentally feed Hulk red, if you're not careful). Boost your match damage, Hulk's boosted enough that he won't notice the additional damage in terms of Anger. If you don't have at least 2 red covers, you're unlikely to win either, since even a weak Repulsor Punch is enough to even out the health differential between you and Hulk at the end.
