Well, it's apparent they were biding their time until they'd got their calculators out and perfected the optimum formula for their name, music, image, presentation, interview technique etc. I'm sure they were shrewd enough to realise that they'd only really have one shot once they got to a certain level, because christ did people like to remind Viva Brother that they used to be Kill The Arcade, so they took their time calculating and preparing everything to give the impression that they'd arrived fully formed. Very shrewd move to totally think things through like that.

in the 90s i had a theory that the worse the title of the techno record, the better the music was

they used to call themselves the slow down which is actually worse

if they were any good at naming things I'd be a lot more charitable

Of Strategy I only know (but love) 'Future Rock'. I vaguely recall they went quite minimal ambient after that?

The reason I asked re "Haunt // Bed" is that, for me at least (and maybe others in this thread) that kind of thing was a big part of the initial attraction of this band, rather than they looked like they might become "pop royalty" or whatever.
