Just finished, at about the same time, On Photography and Szarkowski's Looking at Photographs. Very interesting to read the two against each other; both very playful, one written with somewhat of a darker bent and distrust about the whole enterprise, the other more openly laudatory (but also with a deep sense of distrust).
Looking for recommendations on color photographers; only know Shore, Eggleston, a smattering of others. What's good?
Currently making my way through Roy DeCarava: A Retrospective and Helen Levitt's (RIP) Crosstown.
