"It's overrated..." is just the greatest thing

probably the best "album to listen to a thousand times in a row immediately after a breakup" i've ever encountered

"Insects" does little or nothing for me, the main lyric "we're having fun" too closely echoes "let's have fun" from "Accelerate", which is not really any fun at all

"Accelerate" is fun, that is. "Insects" not so much

witnessing "insects" live will completely change the way you feel about it jsyk

are you referring to one of the pre-Aquarius mixtapes here? if so which one? id be curious to check it out. aquarius only has a handful of self produced tracks iirc

love how after the 1-2 "Accelerate/Fade Away" punch "Silencer" comes in to perfectly setup the middle section of songs. Feel like a truncated-edit of "Kamikaze" would've run away with it on Eurovision.

remembering back to when I first heard Bjork's "Post" for the first time and having that same "holy shit!" moment with this album.

Voted "Darlings" because it's a perfect opener and I guess it needs my help. Some days I prefer "Slowly" or "Memorial" or "Kamikaze" or...

Trust Me is much worse than all the other songs. It sounds like a Radiohead b-side.

Only 4 for Accelerate? madness.

I voted for Accelerate but it was close between that and Fade Away, because, as said before, they run together so well they basically feel of a piece.

Was gutted that I didn't have the whole of this album on my iPhone for the walk in this morning, just those two and Slowly. Blame Bowie.

But anyway, I've been trying to listen to this as intently as possible, and the Patrick Wolf comparison makes a certain amount of sense - in some ways this is the album I hoped he'd make with Alec Empire after Lupercalia, but which he's failed to do because he's gone on weird sabbatical. The songwriting is really good, and the arrangements and mixing are fabulous. It's clicking into place.

would have voted for Accelerate into Fade Away if that was a single track for sure, together they're certainly the highlight. starting with the momentum from Accelerate makes Fade Away even better

there's no album I gave more chances last year than this one, after reading the albums poll I put it on again - and it finally won me over. Got it on vinyl yesterday, great release.

This has finally clicked with me - the gothy ABBA sound initially struck me as too camp and too scandi. But as repeatedly noted, the songwriting is pretty brilliant and some of the lyrics hit hard.
Surprised "Accelerate" didn't walk this. So good.

fade away reminds me of stevie nicks. "slowly" would be my choice tho
