oh that's right, if is boosted... but still!!!

I used GSBW/Hulk/Mohawk from the 5th or 6th round all the way to the end, and was undefeated (though over the course of that run Hulk soaked up a lot of health packs). Boosted Hulk tanks blue, black, TUs, reds, and, most importantly, green, so whenever Galactus does damage he angers Hulk, and after one or two Angers you'll be able to start a winfinite cycle of green, with GSBW's purple resupplying you as needed or pistoling stubborn countdowns or Cosmic Tiles.

BTW, I respecced GSBW to 3/5/5 (I wasn't going to use her Sniper Rifle for this, and having a third target for her red is a nice Get Out of Jail Free card) and Mohawk to 5/5/3 (even though funneling Galactus's countdowns to the top is nice with Storm's black, having too many attack tiles, even if friendly, starts to interfere with your ability to use GSBW's purple to make green matches).

I use Iron Fist, XFW, and either ScarWi or some red+blue user like Magneto. It doesn't always work.

do we have a real shot at getting the Hulkbuster card?

I was rolling XFW, GSBW an SWitch and it's a feast or famine combo; you either end with everyone at like 90+% health or get totally obliterated because the board decided to be a dick

down with that, every time you got a 20 iso reward is a total slap in the face. don't want to play any mission more than seven times, if even that many!

hooray! a pve i hate. that means i can focus on getting the last ~750 in pvp to get a shiny new 10-pack of stuff that will be useless to me!

I like the Gauntlet because it's not competitive! the prizes suck this time though.

btw hooray alliance for getting the Hulkbuster! I balled way harder in that event than I ever had before; having a maxed -> buffed xforce helped since even at the end by the time I'd saved enough black a surgical strike downed Galactus every time

8 2* for me plus hulk (green, bah i need black) and loki (black, bah i need purple or black)

I got XFW, already championed, and a bunch of 3*s and 2* I also had championed.
I beat every gauntlet node. Hulkbuster is the only required 4*. I used Deadpool whales twice, on 36 and 41. One of the optional nodes has the dreaded Carnage/Ant-Man pairing.

Final nodes:
Blade/Thing/Mags (used whales)
GSBW/BP/Hood (took a few tries)
BP/Hulk/Devil Dino (high HP but not that hard)
Daken/Prof X/Miles (got it first try)
4* DP/Kamala/Ghost Rider (took several tries)

The only Gauntlet node I whaled was the Hulkbuster essential (mine is only 2/2/1), I was surprised how far I got with KK/R&G/Cyclops.

Beat the Ant-Man node today! First time around at this point (excluding DD vs. SG), I could reasonably compete in only 3 of 8 nodes, I've only missed one this time around.

Pulled another blue Iceman from the prize.

Nine tries with Ant-Man, all failed. Probably lost about 30 boosts. Sigh

I beat the Ant-Man DDQ on the third try with 5/0/4, underleveled. I got the strike and attack tiles out in good positions and just had to survive. My prize was a Red Hulk purple (0/1/1).

I sold Quicksilver and championed my last two fully-covered 3*s. I got Prof X purple (2/2/4) and Iceman blue (3/4/1), pretty good.

Balance of Power's always a gas, everyone at 555 is even more silly

its fun because you p much can't lose but it's not fun because every battle takes 10 minutes

can I just say that Falcon/IF/Cage is even more ridiculous in this tournament than normal

Don't forget about that each Gauntlet has 2 CPs up for grabs.

I hit that point about halfway through the second Gauntlet where I'm just like ehhhhhhh this is such a drag

Gauntlet (slog) + Balance of Power (slog) + end of season = MPQ may be actually trying to get people to "take a break" to avoid burnout. It'd be interesting if that was a purposeful event design decision.

tbh I am finding Balance of Power to be hilarious

your characters' power scales based on how many covers they have rather than their actual level, correct? this is my assumption anyway

it doesn't upgrade your powers, if that's what you mean, only your level

so my 1/1/1 luke cage is probably not a good play, but if you had a level 40 5/5/3 LK you'd be good. i've been using psylocke and GSBW a bit, because they're cover maxed but nowhere near 166, just to see how they'd play (albeit absurdly exaggerated)

Yeah my question is "if you have all the covers, do you scale to the same level as a fully-maxed character or would you be proportionally weaker?" Trying to see if I should bust out Hulk/KK or not

near as i can tell my GSBW keeps up with all other GSBWs despite being level 41 or something

okay gonna fire up some lols with Hulk/KK/R&G, will report back on whether this is as ridiculous a combo as I predict it will be

CMags/Loki/Patch is already on deck to rofflestomp, also looking for someone to pair with She-Hulk (MagNow/Blade?)

How about Shulk/Patch/MagNow? Gather blue via Mags, cast BR, then steal some strike tiles?

It used to be fun to fight BoP with Hood/OBW/Juggs and get points from other people attacking you. But it looks like the more common characters don't level up as well now.

Then board shake + AOE damage with her red? xp

I maintain that while IM40 wasn't a top-tier character in the wake of some of those who came after him, he was still very, very effective if you used Recharge to fuel his insanely-expensive powers and drained your other colors before firing Unibeam and Ballistic Salvo. But overall this looks better.

my IM40 strategy was always a survival game; last long enough to fire Recharge, drain all your colors except blue/red while IM40 is stunned, Ballistic Salvo, murder unstunned enemies with Unibeam, kill the stunned enemy

rinse/repeat; it was very effective before insane burst damage became the name of the game

xp As someone who actually used IM40 on a semi-regularly basis, his red was kind of worthless because I always used him with Cap and Cap's red is orders of magnitude better. His blue, though, I agree that it kind of sucks that it's losing the stun, which I'd use in the last wave of the 3* DDQ to minimize the number of turns the AI got -- and I used it in the last wave precisely because I needed that much time to gather that much blue. But as a tradeoff for the insane amount of AP you get now from Recharge, I'm totally ecstatic. Think about KK/Cap/IM40!

xxp I'm actually thinking I'll spec my IM40 to 3/5/5, because having that team-wide damage is more important than a red that I'll ignore (assuming of course that I'm running him with Cap).

I'm trying to remember what my team was; I think it was IM40/X-Force/Daken? I know I wasn't using Cap or FatCap because I didn't have either of them leveled.

at least the cost of IM40's blue is down to 16, but there's still an ap hit. can't see myself using it much, I dunno. but his red & yellow, yessssss

Is there a widely-considered "best" blue power in the game? For 3* anyway? Could be interesting to roll IM40/Cap/whoever that is, and just ignore over half of the board. you're really banking on hitting those yellows, tho. R&G maybe, since he's also got that green?
