rather, they are the Ultra Chicks comps. they don't seem to go for so much these days. I guess I will have to love and cherish them until they go up in value again.

If you're on soulseek, my username is histoire... browse my files and you'll find the Jacqueline Taeib compilation, and bits and pieces of ye-ye and such.

Here is the rather extraordinary Tienou song:

Anyone heard much Gillian Hills? I like her vocal style.

is soulseek available for MAC OS X?

I don't know what's the problem with Ultra Chicks, great compilation, though there are some fillers obviously - 6 volumes...

Also good are the Pop-a-Paris compilations.

There is a version of soulseek for Mac - it's called solarseek. Google for that and you should find the relevant page. It does work from PC to Mac - I was downloading from someone on a Mac earlier today. :)

i got this french pop compilation called "Pop Pop Pigalle" which I like very much. it has french covers of "leader of the pack" and "twist and shout". but i like these two songs, "douliou douliou st. tropez" by genevieve grad, and "le telephon" by nino ferrer.

soulseex is the best.

ANYWAY, I know she's not French - but Belgian - but I love Jo Lemaire. Very moody.

Keith - I love that blog... she was the one who posted the Tienou song that I fell in love with.

I'm amazed Alizee hasn't been mentioned on this thread yet. The whole of Gourmadises is great.

I've never had so many people downloading from me!
It would be nice to hear your thoughts on these tracks/albums/compilations, if you've had a chance to listen yet.

Jo Lemaire is indeed pretty great. It's weird that there hasn't been some overhyped revival around her.

is anyone anticipating the new Baaderonixx? (baaderonixx), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 11:19 (seventeen years ago) link

anyone familiar with Sylvie Vartan? I know she had a long career, and even went disco in the end. (as we're all prone to, granted)
