A couple more from this year:

Thomas Cohen's Bloom Forever was written in the wake of the death of his wife, Peaches Geldof.
Okkervil River's Away was partially inspired by the death of Will Sheff's grandfather.

Tool's Aenima was dedicated to Bill Hicks. I suppose Radiohead's The Bends dedicated their record to him too, but Tool sampled him and incorporated him into the art. Certainly helped to introduce me to his comedy and philosophy, so I'm forever grateful.
