I have 3 (XFW, Flaptain, IW)

Flaptain would be nice. I guess I'll champ IW too.

I have XFW, XFDP, 4 Jean, 4 Thor, Miles Morales, Star-Lord, and X-23.

Dan, how do you like the buffed IW? Have you had a chance to flex her new muscles yet?

She isn't essential yet BUT she is much, much more useful than she used to be. Her powers now make sense; her yellow can give a brief respite to your entire team and her blue/green combo now goes after opponents' special tiles in a much more predictable manner than before AND gives you strike tiles to boot.

I drew my first OML red yesterday! now 2-2-1, with the black daily reward coming soon. he is now usable!

I will say this: the new IW is a gigantic PITA for an underpowered Quake to take down by herself

My Quake is 2/2/4, and I leveled her to 168, and I beat IW in two (undramatic) tries with a bunch of damage boosts.

Hmm. Mine is 3/2/3 lvl 168 and I could barely get her down to 50%.

which damage boosts?

+50% green, +50% blue, +100% all.

My General strategy:
* First priority is to deny green. Blue is a secondary color to deny.
* Save Quake's blue for getting rid of IW's strikes or invisibility tiles. If that doesn't get rid of them, Quake's green will be a last-ditch effort to match them away.
* You're smarter than the AI, so make smarter matches.

lol I actually switched to those dmg boosts to see if that was my downfall and got it on my 3rd attempt

Note to self, dmg boosts rule, you should use them

FYI, after complaining to CS about getting a 6th green Phoenix for my 5/0/5, they said that they'd only change the color of the queued 5* cover if the character comes from a Latest pull.

what do ppl think of Medusa?

I think that I want one (and so am grinding semi-seriously in the current pve)

Her purple at higher levels looks super rad.

just opened my 10-pack - all 2 stars and a 3 star cyclops (tho i needed a few of those 2 stars so not too terrible).

i have 3 3* chars ready to be champed but reasonably only enough iso for one of them. cyclops i have 5 extra covers for that i could use after he's champed. captain marvel i have 2. blade i have 2. what do you guys think? thinking it's between cyclops + blade - and maybe cyclops just edges it out because he has so many more covers to use?

cyclops and blade are both pretty awesome and worth champing both at some point. i think cyclops also gets the edge for having 3 useful actives and blade's passive makes him fit only on teams not too reliant on red abilities

i have four left to champ... two aren't at 13 covers yet (strange and, embarrassingly, bullseye) and two are ready but prob won't get champed for a very long time (colossus, doc oc).

i'm at the point where i actually really need to be pouring iso into my 4*s! yay

it's fun to play with 4 stars when you've been running the same 3 stars for a couple of years. I did my usual last-minute 0->2000 shield sim thing, this time running with OML, DPXF and 4 Jean (mostly, swapped her with X-23 a couple of times). OML tanked 3 colors, someone would hit him hard, DPXF's passive would trigger & do almost 4000 damage, and OML would heal his damage in a couple of turns.

ended up getting the Medusa after a last day grind in the last PVE, & the blue Ant-Man cover for 900 in the She-Hulk PVP (having a champed 4 Thor helped a lot since she was buffed last week). I don't have any of this week's buffed 4 stars reasonably covered so I'll lay lower this week, still should be able to get the green Moon Knight in the PVE though.

The only 3s I have left to champion are Rags and Dr Strange. Changed Doc Ock is surprisingly awesome in the right situation/combination but not so much that he's an essential character. (Still the week both he and Carnage were boosted was hilarious.)

I can imagine he's fun but at this point I am just happy a) having all of the 3s, and b) champing the ones who give me covers for 4*s i might one day use. (the trade of 125k iso for a legendary token is no longer as attractive as it once was)

i don't currently have any 4*s at 13 covers that aren't already champed (only hulkbuster and xfw) but flaptain's at 12 so he's priority one. (he's also 4/4/4 so he can go 12 on ANY cover, which is a damn fine feeling). after that... invisible woman has 11, elektra has 10, 4thor has 11 (but it's 2/5/4), and after that... the >9 cover characters get into the weeds (devil dinosaur, anyone...?).

i imagine new 4s will enter the conversation by the time i get those three up to their level maxes, but if not, it's back to the "champing all of my 2s and 3s" mine for me!

I just realized that if I can put together 300K in ISO over the next 10 days, I can champ... Devil Dinosaur

I got my first 3 star to level 200 yesterday, BWGS.

right now I just save ISO for whatever 4 stars I have decently covered are buffed for the week. today I spent 30k iso on getting Moon Knight to l147, which is like l250 buffed. I still have enough that if I happened to pull a Nick Fury purple (currently 5-5-2) I could 270/champ him right away. otherwise I slowly accrue 4 stars, like got a 3rd blue Wasp cover yesterday off the Fury Deadpool Daily Legendary token.

I got wasted by a champed Invisible Woman the other day, with the 4/5 star team in shield sim I mentioned above (OML, DPXF, 4 Jean), and she ain't bad. She got off an invisibility I couldn't match, and they took out my Jean, so I had no team damage to deal. Then she got off a second, and third invisibility, and I couldn't keep up, even with OML healing.

I've just been playing this game a long-ass time; DD is the daily reward for days 1097 and 1098 (and 1093, which is when I cover maxed him).

holy shit... now i wish i hadn't taken a bunch of days off (altho tbf it was because my phone didn't work well and when i got a new phone i kinda resisted reinstalling for a long time)! I think i'm only around 900 now.

mine's 2/3/5 now so hopefully i get an A or B cover for DD by then so I can champ him... otherwise with those cards i'll have him at 3/4/5 + 1... altho who cares lmao it's devil dinosaur

Someone on the forums is suggesting that we should be able to spend resources (ISO or hero points) to convert a cover to a different color when we pull one for an undercovered character that is already maxed. I think this is entirely reasonable which means it will either never be implemented or not show up until around 2018.

that'd be nice, considering i have pulled TWO extra purple miles covers for my 5/0/4 miles, and one extra red cover for my 5/0/2 4cyclops :(

Just because I want to share the jargon:

I pulled a(nother) green Cho for my 5/3/4 (plus a 3/0/0 dupe), so now I'm in a race to get 120 CP by 12/22. I'll have over 50 by the end of today, so with PVE and champion rewards, 70 more CP over 11 days should be doable, especially if I start playing PVP to 575.

My Cho is 5-3-4 too!

I drew another green Venom today; mine's at 5-1-1 and that's like the 4th wasted green I've pulled. I coulda duped but he's not very good.

Can I just say Professor X is hilarious? I just had an hour long Best Friends match where I let Thing/Kingpin tear down my sacrificial Phoenix and kept Prof invisible the entire match, slowly buffing protect tiles and chipping away at their boosted 30K health. At the end, I won with Prof X having taken about 500 points of damage and a 16.5K protect tile on the board.

Is your Prof champed? Is it worth doing?

He is lvl 168 3/2/3. I plan on champing him because throwing out a bunch of special tiles on a match-5 and then crazy buffing them with every match after going invisible seems like something I would want to champion, regardless of how you have to gimp him to make Winfinite combos work.

Oh wait, it's dmg blast per match-5, special tiles per teammate/team-up power invocation

Regardless, he is hilarious

got mine at i think lvl 188, 5/2/2, running him with match5 generators (i think charlies angels mentioned above) is indeed hilarious
