When he spends half the interview talking in constant vague terms about what's wrong with Atlanta these days and then goes "like my man Rocko say, umma do me," I just had to go stfu Killer Mike.

-- Alex in Baltimore, Saturday, March 1, 2008 4:13 AM

Yeah I didn't really get the whole section where he seems to be taking aim at Jeezy & Clipse specifically, as well as the coke-rap legions, then he follows up and talks about how TRUE Clipse are, how he respects Jeezy.

I thought it was good overall, and showed that he's pretty consistent and carefully-considered in his views on ish.

srsly tho

Harry Reasoner: Are Black musicians genetically better than White musicians? Get me in trouble.
Miles Davis: Not better. But they play different. White musicians seem to lag behind the beat. I don’t know why.
Harry Reasoner: Because Black musicians hurt more?
Miles Davis: What do you mean hurt more?
Harry Reasoner: I mean is it…
Miles Davis: It’s not that cliche.
Harry Reasoner: It’s not that easy … to say that … Because you came out of slavery, you play on the beat.
Miles Davis: No no no. That’s got nothing to do with it.

wtf is that shit

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 2 March 2008 04:19 (sixteen years ago) link

would like to clarify that i'm wtf'ing @ reasoner, not miles.

deej, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 16:44 (sixteen years ago) link

explain

The Reverend, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 18:06 (sixteen years ago) link

its, like, eclectic and weird and kind of daring like the title suggests but by the end of the record you're like 'is this all there is??'

deej, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 18:07 (sixteen years ago) link

its got some joints dont get me wrong

deej, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 18:08 (sixteen years ago) link

I can see that

The Reverend, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 18:08 (sixteen years ago) link

pretty much all i've been listening to hip hop wise is the rhymefest/MJ mixtape. he's so ingratiating and cool and awesome. charming as fuck.

M@tt He1ges0n, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 18:17 (sixteen years ago) link

It is pretty damn good. Much better than his actual album.

The Reverend, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 18:44 (sixteen years ago) link

(Which isn't actually that bad, just not that great, either.)

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 5 March 2008 18:49 (sixteen years ago) link

wow, Clinton Sparks, J.R. Rotem AND Scott Storch. he nailed the talentless white producer hat trick without even having to link up with Hollertronix again.

Alex in Baltimore, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 18:52 (sixteen years ago) link

Bun B is always a good interview
