I wish there was a way to make her invulnerable to stuns because Quake/Thanos/Strange where she could mitigates Thanos's team dmg would be hilariously overpowered

She wouldn't cancel Thanos's damage because her yellow only protects against enemy damage. :\

champed my 15th four star today, Thing. I'm not particularly fond of his play style but you follow the covers you're dealt.

next is Moon Knight, whose 13th cover I drew yesterday. then Spider Woman I guess, since I have her at 13 too. also have Electra and Ghost Rider at 13 but neither seem worth the ISO at the moment, will instead level some I have 12 covers for, like Prof X. My 4-4-1 Iceman is who I really want, and he's my 4 star "bonus hero" but being vaulted, he won't be easy to get to 13 without going the CP route. We'll see after Spider Woman (is she good or not? she seems pretty good but I haven't followed the "meta" on her).

I just champed Spider-Woman and the couple times I ran her in Simulator, I found her kind of hard to use. Maybe it was a bad board and/or bad teammates, but I'm not impressed so far.

do u guys think coulson is going to become limited like dino + howard? the weirdly short (but very lucrative) pve of his maybe suggests as much? or maybe it's a one time thing and they're just trying to get ppl more of his covers into circulation?

also i updated my roster: https://mpq.gamependium.com/rosters/mordy/ -- just scored a gwenpool from the enemy of the state vault, so hoping i can grab the two covers in the pve progression.

We've had short PVEs that guarantee covers before for regular characters: Cho and Ant-Man.

I am looking at the description of 5* Hawkeye and going "... dafuq?"

two questions: first, who next to champ of these: deadpool, mystique, doc oc*, psylocke*, sam wilson**, spider-man** (all 13 covers), or maybe one of luke cage, iron fist*, thanos* or doctor strange (all at 12 covers). i was thinking my 12 covered heroes are all better than my 13 covered so i should either spend the CP to bring them to 13 and then champ them, or save the CP (it's at 938 atm) and just hold onto the ISO until i naturally hit 13 with those last 4?

other question! bother rostered ragnarok, colossus and sentry any time soon or wait until i have 4/5* covers in dock to be opened and extra roster spots just lying around? feel like the only advantage to rostering them at this point is to get access to the relevant deadpool dailies (and i guess relevant boosts/essential chars?)?

IMO it's worth rostering all of the 2* and 3* characters because of the resources they give back once you champion them.

RE: championing order, I am correct in assuming you are talking about 3* characters? It's only 20 CP to buy a cover at that level so since you're sitting on over 900 CP I would:

- bring all of those 12 cover characters up to 13 because they are all good enough to be worth it
- champion as covers come in or, if you have the covers and are constrained by ISO, follow this order:

Doc Strange
Iron Fist
Luke Cage
Deadpool
Falcon
Thanos
Mystique
Spider-Man
Psylocke
Doc Ock

None of these characters are per se bad; Doc Ock has a particular niche (he destroys goons that spam special tiles) but he is amazing in it, Psylocke is okay but can be outshone by other damage dealers unless you pair her with a strike tile generator and rely only on spamming her black for attack tiles, and Spider-Man has virtually no damage but can save you from losing with a decentish burst heal and stun-locking. Dr Strange will legit change your life, especially against goons.

oh yeah sorry about the confusion - i meant to note that the asterisks indicate the number of extra covers i have for them sitting around

So to amend my advice I would:

- spend the CP
- Champion Dr Strange immediately
- Champion the characters you have covers for in this order:

IF
Falcon
Thanos
Spider-Man
Psylocke
Doc Ock

- Champion the others as covers come in

The only reason not to champ Strange right away is to make sure you get another legendary token right away, which doesn't matter so much if you are hoarding them.

long-term, the worst 4* is going to be better than Rag/Sentry/Col

short-term and mid-term, you are closing off several avenues of progression by not rostering all of the 2* and 3* characters, plus you should also consider the 4* covers awarded by Rag/Sentry/Col after you roster them (X-23/Moon Knight/X-Force Wolverine)

Given where you are in the game's progression path, I would roster those final 3* characters before opening any legendary tokens; I also would not open any tokens at all until I had HP for a roster spot and I would stop after I pulled a new character, 4* or 5*.

with the new (dumb) only 12 4 stars available from legendaries, I'd think it'd be a good time to draw them.

fwiw I keep drawing Moon Knights from my legendaries in these new dumb times & that's ok I guess but I already have 13 covers & am moving to champ him & I'd rather get something else besides champ levels, when only 12 4 stars are available anyway.

plus I get a Moon Knight for my daily reward in a few days, the first of three I see. well at least they won't be wasted!

also enfin: buffed champed Red Hulk + buffed champed Cho is fun and nasty. I got 900 in the PVP today to get the Thing cover for 271 & the legendary (which netted me one of the aforementioned Moon Knights, but oh well, 900 always feels good). oh & within 10 minutes of getting 900 I'd lost over 200 points, so my team obviously isn't *that* good.

xp ok cool - now i just need to find them. but i'll hoard hp until i do. (they come around pretty often and i just never have a spot for them.) the only 4*'s i'll prioritize rostering before them are ones i get through like pve progression or accidentally find in heroic packs (since i really don't want to stop opening all packs just to avoid finding another 4*, esp since champ covers are a main source of hp for me atm).

it's kind of annoying that alliances don't allow you to pool/share covers

MK is good from what I hear! I've been sitting at 5/1/5 for a while and keeping getting black, though!

As for spending 20 CP on a 3* cover -- the opportunity cost is that you could've pulled a Classic LT, but if you're sitting on those and have CP to burn, I guess it's OK to bump IF or Strange to 13.

A note on 3* Deadpool: really, you're using him for Whales, namely his Insta-Win, which means his levels only matter as far as how much damage he can take before you get enough purple.

Combined Arms PvP with a recently champed Thoress and IM40 = lol

Can I just say that ANOTHER 3* is real PITA in my champing plans?

good ultron strats / team comps?

I am experimenting with XFW/Quake/CMags for maximum boardshaking/color elimination

XFW black to kill any bombs on Ultron's strongest color (red? can't remember now) + green to zap a whole bunch of tiles, hopefully including bombs + yellow that hopefully gets zapped at the bottom of the board and kills some more tiles and drops dmg on him

Quake green to reshuffle the board + blue to target bombs on colors I can't match away that aren't already covered by XFW black

CMags red to shake up the board and cascade away some bombs + blue to drop some damage and maybe get some free matches that lead to cascades and clearing of bombs

Obv the risk is that you shake a bunch of bombs onto the bottom of the board, which would be terrible, but at least in the initial levels I haven't seen much of this.

i kinda like steve rodgers for some board control since both his abilities can overwrite the special tiles

Ultron's strongest color is yellow.

Anyway, 4* Deadpool has been my centerpiece, since being buffed, his Countdown tiles do 3K damage each. The best part is that when Ultron destroys the bottom row, any Countdowns there will do damage as well.

The other two people I've brought along have been Maxie Pun and Quicksilver -- the first for potential strike tiles, the second to try to set up matches on bombs I can't reach. I haven't actually had the chance to use either of them, since Deadpool has taken care of everything so far.

hulkbuster and xfdp have been my mains for ultron, the above mentioned countdown + hb's boosted red are both instawins this early

My preliminary impression of Hawkguy is that he is a lot of fun. The animation on his black is the best in the game (esp if you are a fan of the Fraction series) and even though a bunch of his blue cooldowns got eaten, enough of them went off to wreak havoc on the wave I tested him against.

Oh! Also I tried out the Wasp changes with my lvl 70 2/1/2 paired with SWitch and Falcon and HOLY SHIT

Her yellow alone is OUTSTANDING now; by the time I had enough purple to fire Bird Strike, I had 15 yellow and was able to buff all of his shields into 300+ strike tiles in one turn. The match ended shortly after that. Also, given how her blue works, I am thinking of swapping out SWitch for D4nvers for maximum lols.

God, Round 6 is when these PvEs turn to shit. At least I'm only one card away from finishing Starlord, now.

i got 2 bag of tricks tokens from this event and i notice the timer on cashing them in ends in about a day. but i don't really have the roster space for a new char (tho i guess i could probably find it before anything i pulled expired). if i don't use the tokens right now, will i lose anything cashing them in later? like does the prize pool worsen once the initial event expires?

don't think so, odds should stay the same iirc
