Yes, left margin is too big and the bookmarks div uses only the central 40% of the page.

Don't think that's new.css, can you try that? If it is better then I probably just need to refresh the stylesheets to cold
― stet, Thursday, 23 March 2017 12:10 (seven years ago) link
That was mono something, new is the same, only more colourful. Actually, new is using probably the middle 75% of the screen for bookmarks.

(I like the new menus and add a post box, it's just those margins)
― koogs, Thursday, 23 March 2017 12:22 (seven years ago) link
Yes, large left margin is the main problem. It pushes text off the right side of the screen

change in bookmark behavior (Firefox, Win 10) - used to be, when I clicked the Bookmark link, the thread title would no longer be displayed at the top - now it remains there until you go to another page, then it disappears. nbd, just noting.
― sleeve, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:19 (seven years ago) link
wait it worked just now, maybe it's just too early and I need coffee
no that has definitely become a thing for me too
― Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:26 (seven years ago) link
Yeah I just came here to report that, and the odd viewing experience on mobile (Safari on iOS)
― Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:33 (seven years ago) link
Obviously the second is far more jarring than the first (the old behaviour there was desktop-only, of course)
― Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:34 (seven years ago) link
yeah, just saw it happen again on the Talking Heads thread, but it worked properly on this one, let's see what happens after I post
― sleeve, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:37 (seven years ago) link
Same as Sleeve, w/ all my bookmarks.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:38 (seven years ago) link
refreshed properly that time, no link visible
― sleeve, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:38 (seven years ago) link
however, it does seem to load the whole thread now whereas before I think it just reloaded whatever had been posted since your previous bookmark?
― sleeve, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:39 (seven years ago) link
Have also had to tick Request Desktop Site since css change. Wondered if it was a way to persuade android users to use the Flagging app tbh.
― Colonel Poo, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:53 (seven years ago) link
OK now I click "Bookmark" and still see the link up top (shrug)
― sleeve, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:58 (seven years ago) link
I haven't changed anything about the bookmarking behaviour; I wonder why that's changed. Will see what I can figure out.
― stet, Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:59 (seven years ago) link
haha that time it went away!
thanks for all your work, stet!
― sleeve, Thursday, 23 March 2017 15:00 (seven years ago) link

― marcos, Thursday, 23 March 2017 15:16 (seven years ago) link
oh I see the problem with bookmarking; should be able to fix
― stet, Thursday, 23 March 2017 15:21 (seven years ago) link
fixed!

That was fast!
On the https stuff, does Zing use that now?
― DJI, Thursday, 23 March 2017 22:59 (seven years ago) link
No, it'll need an update to use that. Working on it though
― stet, Thursday, 23 March 2017 23:23 (seven years ago) link
Thank you!
― DJI, Friday, 24 March 2017 00:56 (seven years ago) link
Is it possible whatever you did with bookmarks momentarily caused my bookmarks in Flagging to update?
― Moodles, Friday, 24 March 2017 01:11 (seven years ago) link
my mobile site is still weirdly narrow
― k3vin k., Friday, 24 March 2017 01:18 (seven years ago) link
Maybe there needs to be a mobile.css. hard to do though, without an editor on the phone.
― koogs, Friday, 24 March 2017 07:48 (seven years ago) link
Hey guys, I can't post a question anywhere. Just me or a problem with the board? Getting poxy fule errors.
― Bobson Dugnutt (ulysses), Saturday, 25 March 2017 16:02 (seven years ago) link
still narrow for me on iphone safari :(
also recent posts is down
― k3vin k., Saturday, 25 March 2017 16:45 (seven years ago) link
i've put a new mobile css here http://www.koogy.clara.co.uk/mobile.css if keith / stet would like to add that to the list
changes:body.margin-left and margin-right down from 3 to .5 em - main indentblockquote.margin-left and margin-right set to 5px each (the default is 40px).mainblock.margin-right to .5em to match margin-left.mainblock.padding-left down from 10px to 5px
(comments are within mainblock within body so they were getting doubly indented)
i've only looked at a thread with bookmarks and block quotes as those were the things that were bugging me the most. shout if i need to add anything else.

Thanks for doing this! Am on hols this week with 2G so will install when I get back
― stet, Saturday, 25 March 2017 21:00 (seven years ago) link
Oh, but that's a per-account seeing, isn't it? So if I choose mobile.css that'll be what I see on the desktop too. Not great (not a disaster because it's only slightly smaller margins but... )
Maybe there's a way of switching based on attributes, so mobile.css changes are part of new.css and selected if screen width is below a certain size.
― koogs, Saturday, 25 March 2017 22:43 (seven years ago) link
(I know you can do that, just didn't try it because I didn't think it was necessary)
(And whether it works everywhere is always a gotcha)
― koogs, Saturday, 25 March 2017 22:45 (seven years ago) link
It's not per account - I use a different stylesheet on my phone than on my desktop - assume it's cookie-based?
― Colonel Poo, Saturday, 25 March 2017 22:54 (seven years ago) link
Strange to say, when the main Search wasn't working, I could still access My Recent Posts. Now everything is Poxy Fuled. :-(
― a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Saturday, 25 March 2017 23:13 (seven years ago) link
xp on my PC (WIn7, Firefox) there's a cookie called StyleSheet whose content is 'old.css' (the stylesheet I use).
― well the bitter comes out better on a stolen Switch cartridge (snoball), Saturday, 25 March 2017 23:20 (seven years ago) link
xp I get Poxy Fuled now on both search and My Recent Posts, where the latter worked up until the day before yesterday.

so uh have we figured out why iPhone safari is narrow or what
― k3vin k., Sunday, 26 March 2017 05:14 (seven years ago) link
because it's kind of annoying

I can click on it and that screen comes up. Haven't tried actually posting yet. Does it say TURN BACK YOU POXY FULE when you do so?
