I've come to the conclusion that a lot of the people who are complaining about vaulting preventing them from building competitive rosters aren't in 4* land and aren't playing around with some of the new characters, because there are some ferocious, devastating combos out there among the following:

Wasp
Medusa
Bl4de
4Luke
Coulson
Cpt M4rvel

Is any one of them a self-powering steamroller? Not really. I'd still rather champ any of them over Rulk (maybe not Iceman).

It will come eventually! I didn't start getting a decent roster until I started focusing on the progression awards in PVE rather than PVP; it was a lot of grinding though.

ditto. i've got 26 LT right now i've been saving up and 1500 CP (/20 per CL = an additional 75 CL tokens!). every 3* is rostered except for colossus and all but 7 are champed. every 4* is rostered but 5 (mr.f, venom eddie brock, deadpool, the thing and war machine). i'll hopefully be able to open all these tokens soon and presumably cover at least a couple 4*s (have at least a few btwn 6-8 covers) but it requires so much iso to champ them that i'm not in any kind of rush.

I would love if it'd stop giving me the same 1* card over and over. I can't champ that Spider-Man. Stop giving me the damn cards!

oh yeah, standard tokens suck a lot (unless you manage to get a 3* out of them because they guarantee a bonus 3* pull)

is that true that pulling a 3* from a standard token guarantees a bonus pull? i think i got one today (bonus pull: hawkeye) but just assumed i was super lucky

fwiw i wouldn't bother spending iso on 1*'s - you'll make the transition to 2*'s quickly enough and ultimately you'll just have 1* (juggernaut probs) on your roster

You will need a bunch of ISO to level 2* and 3* characters, which is basically all you should worry about until you have most of them championed. From that standpoint, getting regular little drops of 100 ISO will be very helpful in the long run. Basically IMO anything I can turn into ISO or hero points is A+, I will take it, thank you (leveling 4* characters is FUCKING EXPENSIVE)

I have no 3* characters capable of being champed yet, current 2* champs are:
Storm (classic)
Steve Rogers (Captain America)
Hawkeye (Modern)
Thor (Marvel NOW!)
Wolverine (Astonishing)
Black Widow (original)
Magneto (NOW!)

just focus on champing 2*s and don't worry about anything else yet; if you have the hero points for it, roster any 3* cover you encounter but don't bother leveling them until you have your 2*s near finished (the general idea being that this focus puts you into the hoard mode necessary to accumulate the ISO to power level a 3* to max once you're ready to move to that tier; also, by that point all of your 2* champss should be giving you regular ISO, HP, command points and 3* cards in addition to any PVE rewards).

The 4* Essential nodes that give a CP as one of 6 rewards in PvE - those are rigged to always give the CP on the 4th attempt, right?

the new 3*s coming out are nice because they give you something to work toward, and also they seem way stronger than the old ones - talking about Thanos and Hawkeye, and I assume the new Starlord. of course, it also means wasting more HP on roster slots...

yellowkid - i also find it tends to be on the 4th try too, so maybe it is rigged / the CP has a "lower" pull rate

it's always on the 4th clear; you will get one on the 2nd and one on the 4th if the sub-board is open for 48 hours instead of 24

(ditto for the "last" unrestricted node)

I definitely have too much ISO. 250K atm and everything maxed and 47 roster slots. I want the gold coins, so I can expand my slots.

So... you can't go very far in the new Starlord story mode without the 5*, right? Weird.

The whole thing only has 5 nodes in it; I don't remember where the 5* node popped up but I think they are assuming ppl are going to blow CP on the Star Lord store until they get a cover, since it's a 10% drop rate? (I got one on my first pull so I did the whole thing in a day.)

I think the only thing you can't do is that 5* node with the 3500 ISO reward

I champed my Prof X today and I'm gonna buy my last Iceman cover in the heroes store tomorrow. I'm still blah on vaulting but after that I'll feel pretty good about my 4 star roster (18 champed with Prof X)

they're putting out new characters faster than i can roster them esp still catching up on missing chars. i still have like 30 LT bc i've not once had a moment since i champed my first 3* where i had sufficient hp to open them. now only missing 1 3* (colossus) and 4 4*'s (deadpool, the thing, war machine and venom). i guess on the plus side the 30LT plus the 1614 CP i have means i'll probably be able to champ some 4*'s relatively soon

Update: I spoke with the development team, and it appears that players are only temporarily unable to access their saved game data. You can rest assured that all of that data is still backed up on their servers.

Update 2:
Players' saves are unaffected. Anyone that downloaded R126 already will have their save progress restored once they update to the next build. (New build of R126 for iOS) Please do not delete the game in the meantime.
If anyone has deleted their game, they will have to work with CS to restore the game save if they did not connect their game to Facebook previously.
Players who downloaded R126 on iOS already will be unable to connect to the game until the issue is resolved.
Those players should be able to play on a R125 iOS device or an Android R125/R126 version of the game until the issue is resolved.
iOS Players who haven't updated to R126 can make progress normally.

looking for advise specifically -

a. who do you guys think i should be bonus'ing? right now i have it set to black bolt for 5*, iceman for 4* (bc he's vaulted so i otherwise can't get him), and dr strange for 3* (bc he's great at clearing pve nodes)

b. i'm just about ready to crack into my 1708 CP (pulled a 1000 HP from the deadpool daily and opened a bunch of my LT's - so now I only have 14 left) - what should I spend them on? classic legends exclusively? that would equal about 85 classic legend tokens.

Iceman is still great but there are several newer characters that I would chase down before him because their new mechanics and synergy with other characters make them monstrously great assets:

- Medusa: her passives make you really, REALLY difficult to kill unless you can nuke characters down
- Wasp: it's super unfortunate that she just left the token pool because her yellow makes anyone who produces strike OR protect tiles into a terrifying nightmare
- C4ge: his yellow will start hitting like a freight train after a couple of casts; add in IF and he also erases a good chunk of match dmg, pair him with Wasp and you can flip his protects to strikes and go ham
- Bl4de: see C4ge, only it's his passive that creates strikes and the synergy with Wasp that makes him terrifying
- C4rol: anyone who has countdowns and special tiles is turned into a terrifying monster by her yellow passive, plus her green passive gives you free AP in your most powerful color
- Coulson: mostly because his passives are all insane countdown-based things which drive C4rol and turn her into a tile-buffing nightmare
- Peggy: again, too bad she is out of tokens because her yellow passive breaks the other team, her blue hits like a truck unboosted and her red is respectable, too.

Black Bolt is a decent choice for 5* but do not underestimate how useful Thano5 is with that black passive; on lower-level enemies, you can end the game in 1-2 turns. In longer games, the stun component can/will save your life and the self-damage is negligible if you are running with self-healing characters (I usually go OML/SS to maximize basic match damage but anyone in the 3*/4* tier can heal themselves back to full if the match lasts long enough).

Medusa, Bl4de, C4rol and Coulson are all still in the token pool too, so you have the potential to get a bunch of their covers and finish them faster if you make one (or more) of them your bonus hero. (C4ge is also still in but is the next to go once 4* R&G get added. BTW, word on the street is that 4* R&G is great because he can throw down four beefy strike tiles at the beginning of the match.)

i'm closest to champing blade (8 covers) so think i should focus on him? medusa only have 4, carol 3 and coulson 4.

also dumping all my CP into classic tokens is a good gameplan?

In order of awesomeness, I'd probably rank them:

C4rol
Medusa
Bl4de
Coulson

C4rol is great by herself, as she can create strikes and then buff them off of her cooldown (which also has a dmg component); pairing her up with other characters with faster cooldowns and better strikes makes her terrifying

Medusa is dependent upon special tiles to show how terrifying she can be but if they exist, watch out

Bl4de's strike generation and the damage frenzy he goes into once you get enough red are reason enough to chase him; he's a little less flexible than others but pair him with someone who generates red and he can start wrecking boards

Coulson has some interesting side-effects but I mostly rate him because pairing him with C4rol and someone who generates special tiles is hilariously OP. I was running Wasp/C4rol/Coulson during the cooldown bug and it was hilariously overpowered; every power you fired caused Coulson to put down a cooldown, which would eventually trigger a C4rol buff, plus Wasp's protect/strike switch on yellow buffs, plus get enough blue and Wasp gives you a rolling 1-turn cooldown, plus Coulson's purple is a tile switch that charges the tiles before switching them, letting you refill yellow practically on a whim so you can trigger Wasp's tile flip, plus the purple passive will make your cooldowns expire faster once you get enough teamup AP, again triggering C4rol's buff faster. Add onto all of this the fact that cooldown expiration was causing a point of damage that you could buff with strike tiles and it was absurdly overpowered; I have none of these characters championed and they were DESTROYING PVE enemies that my scaling had leveled up to the range. Even without the cooldown bug, you can get your match damage to the point where within 3 turns, a single match will give you 2-3K damage.

If you are mostly looking to beef up your 4*s rather than chasing 5*s, go for classics. If you are trying to get the newest 5*s, go for latest.

I was playing around with 4* R&G's green because of the cute animations against a boosted PvE team that had Juggernaut on it. Juggs hit his Unstoppable Force and blew up a bunch of tiles, including my green cooldown; somehow, this did NOT cancel the free match from Baby Groot and I kept getting a free match at the beginning of my turn for the rest of the match. It is possibly the best bug I've encountered; I have been looking through the forums to see if anyone's reported it but, if anyone HAS seen it, they are keeping it to themselves.
