I guess if they had started out more flickr-like and community-minded it'd make more sense to me, but it's like people who are really into commenting on a news channel's links on facebook

I work in tech support and a lot of my colleagues browse imgur all day and there are so many stories on there that they retell with the same reverence as if they were newspaper articles

scares me a bit

yeah, especially because a frontpage staple on imgur is a meme about some woman that was found to have falsely accused a man of rape

they really seem to like stories about that for some reason

i know i'm at least partly hypocritical because i continue to visit imgur and use it for hosting the dumb images that i post here, so i'm giving them support in some way? are there ads on imgur? i don't even know. at any rate i want to make it clear that i'm on imgur for the sweetest golden retriever videos you've ever seen, not for the stuff that their bullshit community seems to love the most

imgur weirds me out because I just use it as the new photobucket, but i guess there's a culture of people who are really active on there and feel the need to comment on my pictures and tell me why they are bad.
