thursday is SOS, yes, with live music and all that, yes. there happens to be a wetherspoons directly across the way, however, with large open spaces, (semi) quiet atmosphere and cheap food and beer. so y'all could do a pre-SOS dinner meet-up there if you like. alternatively, you could snag a table in the upstairs mezzanine/loft area of macsorleys to be a bit removed from it all.
as for friday, if you don't fancy the crowded heat of the woody, i will likely be a guest DJ at the chill ABC polar bar for dolly mixture's new night. so lots of space, girly tunes and air conditioning.
Now, I'm not convinced about the JD Weatherspoons pub across the road (Crystal Palace) being open, since it seemed quite closed the last time me and Onimo tried to go in for a pint. That was a few weeks ago, mind, perhaps it is back open again. But upstairs in McSorleys sounds good. I can be there very early doors indeed. (note hint at impending ruin)
I'm also theoretically up for the ABC on Friday as well. I HATE the lack of air-con in the Woodside, so cool places are, well, cool.
Basically, yay for Dahlin, a wise woman with GOOD IDEAS.

A quick shufty through the Metro shows that, although Dahlin's Sounds of Sweden night sounds aces, it also costs £4 to get in. Now I don't want to deny her the chance to make a quick buck at ILX's expense, but this may deter the casually-dropping-in punter (Grimly? anyone else?). Aldo concurs. Should we make an alternative plan? Perhaps the Crystal Palace so that Dahlin can nip over the road and join in the merriment when hott Swedish boys get too much? (I *know* it's a Weatherspoons, but I can't really be bothered thinking of anywhere else right now). Debate amongst yourselves, and when a pub decision is reached an email to (my first name).(my last name)@gmail would be a good thing. Or a text. I can let Aldo know if he hasn't checked in himself - snce he's left this in my allegedly capable hands, I'm guessing maybe he won't?
