I support the President ordering his entire Cabinet to drop everything they're doing and begin counting to infinity, no matter how long it takes. Maybe it could be suggested to him that this was precisely the kind of decisive action that Failing Obama was too chicken to take.

NK regime understands particularly well that having the serious ability to fight back is their best guarantee of survival, no matter what bluster Trump can dish out. War would mean hundreds of thousands dead in the first couple of weeks. They're even strategically hardened against nukes and could inflict plenty of damage even after a nuclear strike. If Trump gets all upset at the sight of a few Syrian kids getting bombed, he ought to break down into a weepy puddle on the floor at the thought of the masses of Korean kids he'd personally kill, maim and traumatize by starting a shooting war in Korea.

He doesn't care about Syrian kids. He only cares about getting attention by being the biggest asshole possible. Who knows what kind of reasoning will go into his military decision making.

If he provokes Kim Jong Un to commit atrocities he will probably say that proves he was right to attack and say the crooked fake media thought Kim was just fine.

I mean, who knows. Hopefully no one tries to talk him into some major conflict. There are plenty possible ones he could pick -- NK is just an example based on his recent statement.

We've already collectively othered the people and leaders of North Korea (see ILX thread "North Korea people getting fucked over for life is hilarious!" or whatever - although i will grant that the kim jong family is just fucking ridiculous and it is sort of funny), so I don't envision many people crying about the dead, let alone trump. beyond perhaps the diehard iraq war protesters, no one really gave a shit about all the civilians who died there. when people talk about what a terrible mistake that was, they're generally referring to the geopolitical consequences. GWB is a colossal piece of shit but he's probably spent more time thinking about the people that died as a result of his decisions than just about anyone else. although who knows, maybe everyone is constantly thinking about the people who were slaughtered but don't want to say anything because it never feels like a good time to bring it up. in my experience whenever that topic comes up people are just like "yeah...man that was fucked up *stare blankly for 2 seconds* i like hot dogs" or whatever and then it's over. anyway, my point is that no one cared about the dead civilians in iraq, and we've already been trained from birth to think that everything in NK is a joke and they have it coming. and that's like, for a normal USA person. trump is something else. i get tired of everyone psychologizing him but er yeah i don't think he cares about anyone else in the universe so i sure as hell don't think he really cares about who is going to die whenever he tells "the generals" to do something, or more accurately, whenever he allows "the generals" to do whatever they've been wanting to do for a long time
