The other day I was trying to think of what douchebag Don Jr. reminded me of, and then after a few seconds realized I was thinking of ... Don Jr. . Like, "Who does that douchebag Don Jr. remind me of? Oh yeah, Don Jr."

I imagine unlike sanguine, Zen GWB, Trump will end his life ranting and raving.

i share the same cynical attitude toward the fossil fuel kingpins and climate change deniers. sometimes enviros have sad wet dreams about how the people who perpetrated this catastrophe will see how wrong they were and feel so bad and beg for forgiveness. but most likely they'll just take their money and move to a heavily fortified compound in a beautiful remote area of formerly uninhabitable land made fertile by climate change, while the rest of us tear each other's eyeballs out and eat each other or whatever we end up doing

I'm too young to remember, but what did Nixon do in the decades before his death?

Imagine how fucked up it would be if a US president could drop over 100000 bombs and deport 2.5 million people and leave office with his legacy in tact

http://www.spiegel.de/politik/ausland/donald-trump-eskaliert-seinen-krieg-gegen-die-medien-a-1155174.html

Trumps fans love his attacks against the media

That with the odds is not true. Like Fox News and MSNBC, which are as successful as not for long, CNN is also on the up. The three rivals are 33 per cent higher than the previous year - thanks to Trump: the more the journalists sabotage, the more the stations earn.

The same is true for most other US media who enjoy a renaissance of investigative research. When the "Washington Post" now revealed a "Time" -cover with the portrait Trumps, which hung in his golf clubs , as a fake , Trump promptly repulsed and threatened Amazon, the parent company of the paper, a fictional "Internet tax".

Trumps, in turn, loves mediaeval supporters, who have already journalized the journalists in their election campaigns, insulted and challenged. When the Republican Congress candidate Greg Gianforte recently beat a reporter of the "Guardian" bloody, they thanked him with an election victory .

Just so we're clear, my sympathy for the Trumps (and the GOP-at-large) is nonexistent and I wish for all of the bad things that the universe cares to heap upon them. The sadness is that of watching a sick animal eat its own leg off and hoping that nature takes its course as quickly as possible.

Sadly, I think there's probably a non-negligible chance that at least one of the junior cretins runs for office in the future. Our species doesn't seem to actually learn anything from its mistakes.

Minor details!

How do you get into meeting w/Trump Jr., Manafort, Kushner at Trump Tower w/o revealing your identity? Trump had Secret Service protection.

I really hope that Futerfas is in private practice with someone named Henry Wackenberg and that they call their firm Futer-Wacken.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/zoetillman/donald-trump-jr-has-hired-a-lawyer-who-has-handled?utm_term=.txpweKGGD#.xfE45vGGb

Unlike Kasowitz, however, Futerfas’s practice is steeped in high-profile white-collar matters, as well as the occasional political controversy. News archives show that Futerfas has long represented clients with alleged ties to organized crime, including alleged members of the Bonanno, Gambino, Genovese, and Colombo crime families. Last year, he represented the son of a New York pizzeria owner who was found guilty of drug-related charges in a case that stemmed from an investigation into drug trafficking by the Italian mafia.

NEW: Email shows Trump Jr. was told before meeting that Clinton dirt came from Russian effort to aid Trump campaign https://t.co/lvcZXxDTKJ

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:13 (six years ago) link

Ha, just posted that on the Russia thread. Be awesome (if unlikely) if when all the dust settles it's not his rogue's gallery that brings him down but his dumbass son.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:16 (six years ago) link

I remain totally pessimistic that anything's going to bring Trump down, but surely this, finally, is the smoking gun.

Zelda Zonk, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:21 (six years ago) link

I want to see him to try to throw his son under the bus so bad. I'm not proud of myself for wanting to see that.

Treeship, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:24 (six years ago) link

I wouldn't feel any guilt Treesh, I hope this family just self-destroy before our very eyes.

Van Horn Street, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:29 (six years ago) link

I think the funniest outcome would be if it turns out all these idiots were in fact being worked by the Russians, but each thought they were colluding independently. What's the harm, right? No one will find out. And then, bam, they all learn that literally everyone else has been doing the same thing. The only thing that could make it more perfect is if they all caught crabs at the same time, too.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:31 (six years ago) link

If the family isn't crushed by this or something else, we're going to see Trump juniors running for political office for the next 50 years

Zelda Zonk, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:35 (six years ago) link

Trump Jr is a charisma black hole. If any Trump will run for office it will be Ivanka and only after Jared serves two terms and climate change has advanced to the point where it rains sulfuric acid.

Treeship, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 01:39 (six years ago) link

This is the funniest part of the story:

But Mr. Goldstone, who wrote the email over a year ago, denied any knowledge of involvement by the Russian government in the matter, saying that never dawned on him. “Never, never ever,” he said. Later, after the email was described to The Times, efforts to reach him for further comment were unsuccessful.
