Dippin' Sauce on my Nice New Slacks (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 18 July 2017 17:21 (six years ago) link

Trump's definition of "obstruction" is idiotic. Not voting for a bill that would undo your party's greatest legislative achievement in a generation is not obstruction. When Obama was in office the Republicans blocked judicial nominees and held the government hostage in order to grandstand about budgets. They blocked routine congressional operations, not just legislation they disagreed with. Totally different.

Treeship, Tuesday, 18 July 2017 17:22 (six years ago) link

I know everyone here understands that but I just wanted to write it out in case Trump's reading this thread.

Treeship, Tuesday, 18 July 2017 17:22 (six years ago) link

Dude. Donald Trump doesn't understand how to use most big words correctly. It's just his thing.

Dippin' Sauce on my Nice New Slacks (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 18 July 2017 17:23 (six years ago) link

Trump's definition of "obstruction" is idiotic.

For sure. And even if he managed to "let Obamacare die" or whatever, talk about a shortcut to "owning" it.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 18 July 2017 17:23 (six years ago) link

'I can't believe it. I asked for extra ketchup with this steak. This is such obstruction.'

Dippin' Sauce on my Nice New Slacks (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 18 July 2017 17:24 (six years ago) link

Treeship is wrong, the Democrats in the Senate did pull all kinds of obstructionist procedural tactics, refused to attend hearings, deployed parliamentary tricks to keep votes from being held, extended debates, etc., the efficacy of which was debated on these very threads.

Trump is an idiot, but the Congressional Dems are def being obstructionist (as they should be imo)

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 18 July 2017 17:25 (six years ago) link

ppl on here were complaining that the Dems *weren't* being obstructionist enough, and then when they did commit to using every tool at their disposal, afterwards they don't get credit for it? wtf

Which is hilarious because movement conservatives types who celebrate that crew are currently crowing about the vote as a was to 'expose' those who betrayed them past on their past repeal votes.

idk I still imagine the Hill and Trump conspiring to destroy the health markets as much as possible in an attempt to blame Dems in 2018. Not that it's strategic -- the House has blood on its handsalready.
