Here's the thing, the most annoying part of sourdough avocado toast is sawing through the sourdough.

But that's part of the appeal

Funny this came up this week. I've been hitting Marks&Spencers at the time they make major reductions recently. One day this week I scored 1/2 price loaves of each.
Don't think I have a favourite both were pretty great. Haven't tried either in a while before that.
Used to get a 60% rye regularly about 15 years back but I think the baker's long gone.
Liked the sourdough from the Bagel shop in Finsbury park too.

The only bread I have eaten in the last 6 months was the slightly rye tinged sourdough at 108 in Copenhagen which was phenomenal. My local bakers does a pretty awesome 100% rye sourdough which makes the absolute best toast.

I love the crust on sourdough and the elastic crumb. And the sourness, of course. Rye has its place for sure but I confidently cast my vote for sourdough.

You know what would probably be really good is a croque madame on toasted dark rye

The blame clearly lands at the feet of marble rye for pandering to the sourdough lovers. Sourdough was always going to get at least 45 votes. If we had been more vocal about the anti-flatulence benefits of caraway seeds instead of trying to pivot to the center to please people who don't floss more ilxors would've come out to vote for rye.

I think sourdough is a tasty type of bread

rye is good too! the bread debate has been taken over by extremists on both sides

I tried to give fair consideration to both sides throughout the campaign, but these results have galvanized me as a rye partisan.

I am going to eat a rye-on-sourdough sandwich in honor of this thread.

Yeah, the rye gets the roof of the mouth. Turn all senses away.
