Kind of seems like an e.g. of what goes around comes around. After being inhuman to the press etc she's remified. Or commodified.

look, if you genuinely believe that there is no evidence of russian collusion, stfu and let mueller do his job and then lol heartily when the report he publishes is 1,500 pages of reasons why collusion didn't happen

I totally get if journalists who typically deal with politicians aren't used to dealing with the drug-damaged and the crazed.

I think it's because good journalists would normally approach the drug-damaged or crazed with patience, empathy and fairness, but Trump deserves none of those things, which puts them in a weird spot.

Sanders is awful but she doesn't deserve this

I watched the press conference as it happened, and I totally though Mooch was trying to be self-deprecating, talking about himself, how he needed hair and makeup. I don't think he was ripping on Sanders. That said, fuck her and her sarcasm and religious fundamentalism and being a snide, lying spokesperson for a piece of shit.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 24 July 2017 11:59 (six years ago) link

But did you read the piece? She had her hair did in a new way on Friday and he looked the same vampire douchebag he always does.

(crosstalk)(garbled)(crosstalk/unintelligible) (stevie), Monday, 24 July 2017 12:16 (six years ago) link

Sexism is bad.

Scaramucci is bad.

Sanders is bad.

Treeship, Monday, 24 July 2017 12:18 (six years ago) link

I did glance at the piece and the before and after pictures of the Mooch were pretty dramatic as well I thought. Anyway, I just heard it as it happened and thought he was trying to be self-deprecating. Like, as I remember it people asked him if he would be doing more press conferences himself, his response was something like only if we have the hair and makeup person we have today.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 24 July 2017 12:20 (six years ago) link

Oh wait, this was something else wasn't it? Nevermind. He did make it reference to hair and makeup during the press conference, but I didn't realize this was a follow-up interview.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 24 July 2017 12:21 (six years ago) link

Regardless, fuck her, have you heard the shit her dad has said about women?

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 24 July 2017 12:25 (six years ago) link

We're at the point where we have to specify which of the interviews with the WH communications director discussing hair and makeup we're referring to. That's where we are.

At any rate, disgust towards those who voluntarily work with Trump should be an equal opportunity endeavor, I feel.

In the future, you won't even be considered for the presidential nomination if you haven't been featured in a leaked sex tape alongside a washed-up celebrity.

I often wonder if Kid Rock would be where he is today if it weren't for that Grand Royal Magazine piece on him when his career seemed dead in the 90s

Honestly, I would be ecstatic if the GOP ran Kid Rock against a vulnerable incumbent. Unlike Donald Trump, the Kid will have to actually win a majority of votes.

The revelation that the head of Vnesheconombank provided Kushner with actual, literal dirt is delightful.

So will the Kush or Jr. or Manafort be under oath? I am reading conflicting reports.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 24 July 2017 14:01 (six years ago) link

From what I can tell, not under oath but there's still law on the books making it a crime to lie to Congress.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 24 July 2017 14:01 (six years ago) link

Law on the books making it a crime to lie to Congress... enforcement and prosecution of which are overseen by liar-to-Congress Jeff Sessions.

As Haberman's been noting, apparently Kushner's rather close to Rudy. Convenient, this new rumor!
