The Intercept has been completely co-opted (if was ever "opted") as a psyops mouthpiece to sow discord in the left while pretending to be of the left, when it's not at all. It's mostly a venue for exaggerated, fact-challenged, unedited barf pieces where the upshot is always "Democrats Suck," to reinforce the insipid bubble that certain people (ahem) live in.

It should merit approximately as much credulity as the NYT editorial page, in other words, although since there's no print edition it's not as useful for a charcoal starter or birdcage liner.

Johnson says that he believes that the committee wants to talk to him about his work with Peter Smith, a longtime GOP opposition researcher who formed a team of investigators and cyber sleuths last year to obtain emails that Hillary Clinton deleted from her private email server.

Johnson, who has reported for The Daily Caller in the past, says that he plans to accommodate the Senate committee, though he will insist on testifying in a public setting. If he ends up giving a closed-door interview, which has been the norm so far for the committee, Johnson says he will likely attend without an attorney present.

He did add that he plans to turn any Senate appearance into a “circus.”

I have a feeling this is not going to turn out the way he thinks.

I just used the word credulity either completely incorrectly or at least really awkwardly but the point stands that not even parakeets can take sufficient shits on the intercept to make it worth anyone's time.
