Probably all that needs to be said in the end

Source close to Bannon and Scaramucci, to me: "It’s not a problem for [Mooch] because the president doesn't give a shit."

And he doesn't seem to either.

I sometimes use colorful language. I will refrain in this arena but not give up the passionate fight for @realDonaldTrump's agenda. #MAGA

Neanderthal, Thursday, 27 July 2017 22:41 (six years ago) link

yeah if he vetoes that it's going to get overridden in both Houses

Οὖτις, Thursday, 27 July 2017 22:42 (six years ago) link

I can guess who the three no votes were in the house, no idea who the two in the Senate were...? Rand Paul probably

Οὖτις, Thursday, 27 July 2017 22:42 (six years ago) link

he voted twice

Neanderthal, Thursday, 27 July 2017 22:44 (six years ago) link

whats ironical to me is all the white house leaks are a byproduct of trumps awful lord of the flies management style. if you have harmony at home you're gonna have fewer leaks..

officer sonny bonds, lytton pd (mayor jingleberries), Friday, 28 July 2017 00:00 (six years ago) link

White House disarray poses something of a catch-22. As much as I enjoy these idiots infighting, each firing invites the chance they'll be replaced by someone competent. Which is a scary thought, except that the person doing the firing would be incompetent, too, indicating the replacement would likely be just as incompetent as the person they're replacing. Most likely we'll end up wth a fun mix of chaos agents and useless blobs, with the chief executive already the pinnacle of that special combo.

Every contestant eliminated on this season of the Apprentice makes it more difficult to apply the 25th Amendment when needed, in case something really goes awry (Trump orders a nuclear first strike, Mattis refuses, etc).

Are you Eating It...or is It Eating You? (Sanpaku), Friday, 28 July 2017 00:30 (six years ago) link

this is going to end in a way nobody expects, something stupid like DJT slipping in the shower and hitting his head and going into a coma or mutant insects coming from the soil to enslave us

Neanderthal, Friday, 28 July 2017 00:39 (six years ago) link

LOL the wiki entry for 25th amendment includes this corker:
Upon becoming the White House Chief of Staff in 1987, Howard Baker was advised by his predecessor's staff to be prepared for a possible invocation of the Twenty-fifth Amendment[35] due to Reagan's perceived laziness and ineptitude.[36][37]

Those guys must look back now and laugh.

Best possible outcome for the country is a collapse on a golf course, followed by years in a coma.

Are you Eating It...or is It Eating You? (Sanpaku), Friday, 28 July 2017 00:42 (six years ago) link

they'd probably refuse to transfer powers and still leave him the President

Neanderthal, Friday, 28 July 2017 00:43 (six years ago) link

Frankly, I'm none too fond of the Cold War expansion of presidential powers. A president incapable of signing legislation or offering direction, but also incapable of offending our allies and starting unnecessary wars, would be better than our collective dive into chaos. The U.S. survived Oct 1919-Jan 1921 (after Woodrow Wilson's stroke) just fine without a chief executive. It could do so again.

What???

Treeship, Friday, 28 July 2017 01:12 (six years ago) link

SOMEBODY forgot how to log in so I'm posting this insight from her instead:

The reason Ivanka and Kush got the Mooch to come in is because they're sick and tired of having to constantly give Daddy the affirmation he needs. They know that Mooch will give him that so they can take a break from checking in and making sure everything is okay - Mooch will fuck with all the other hangers-on, Mooch will #MAGA all over everything, and they can finally stop living with their dad all the time and go about their lives.

El Tomboto, Friday, 28 July 2017 01:13 (six years ago) link

Aw.

GOP Sen. David Perdue says he was "comforted" by Paul Ryan's statement and he will now vote "yes" on skinny bill, @mj_lee reports.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 28 July 2017 01:14 (six years ago) link

That makes no sense. He is not dumb enough to think the New Yorker reporter is his best friend and confidant.

I hate when they jerk us around like this.

Treeship, Friday, 28 July 2017 01:15 (six years ago) link

well it's easy, shift the narrative to "OMG the media is the enemy" and let the base connect the dots - they "took him out of context", they "painted him in an unfair light", "they faked the interview"
