Its worth remembering theyre not - I actually have some LGBT friends who are vehemently anti marriage, see it as a cis/religious/patriarchal institution not worth scrabbling for and I have to admit, I kinda get that. I have friends like that, but I also have friends who are gay and deeply want to express they commitment in the form of marriage. Choice is a wonderful thing.
