Absolutely. Don't think Soton will budge though. xp

Idk think Pock and Levy are a match made in heaven. Poch doesn't seem to ask much, which makes Levy a happy camper.

If anything Liverpool's the little dick here. They could've been the heroes of the summer, standing their ground firm. Rejecting 110m, rejecting 120m and laughing at Barca, rejecting 130m and making a mockery of Barca... Saying you'll not sell him this window and Barca looking foolish trying and trying again. So why accept 140m now? They sure fucked Klopp if this is true.

not if, as seems to be the case, the deal is contingent on lemar joining liverpool. if it comes to that, and coupled with his bs about training for brazil after feigning injury before a gigantic match - maybe it is time to just let him go. all my resistance here was on the basis that they won't be able to sign anyone as a replacement.

i'm emboldened by our spanking of perennial tough nut arsenal.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 29 August 2017 20:13 (six years ago) link

Lemar has it all to prove imo, but I see your point.

OT but missed you here during the trashing of Arsenal last weekend.

xp lol!

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 29 August 2017 20:14 (six years ago) link

We don't mean any more to poch that Southampton did when we came calling. For the past two years he's made his own platform for achievement but last summer the players delivered weren't what was needed. I think this summer was a long time coming for him and he's been left grasping again, and you'd have to be very idealistic to presume he'll overlook the top tier clubs next time they come knocking

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Tuesday, 29 August 2017 20:15 (six years ago) link

Obv, but Poch signed on to a Spurs basically spending nowt (yes yes, Sanchez, but he wasn't even needed most), and he's still there. I don't think it's lack of ambition, rather

May be Poch is very idealistic. Maybe he is a unicorn.

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 29 August 2017 20:20 (six years ago) link

Meanwhile Vincent Janssen is still a first pick striker of the toiling Dutch XI and I don't even know football anymore ffs

same, for the most part, though i've always really liked coutinho, in part because he seemed like he wouldn't be the type to pull what he's done this summer

nah you maybe accept a certain frugality out of deference to club policy when you come in as the new guy, but there's not much more Poch could reasonably have done in the last 3 years to say "I know what I'm doing here and if you want to win things then you've got to back me". every one of Spurs' competitors domestically and on the continent is strengthening (except Arsenal it seems). if i was Poch i'd be pretty pissed off. or possibly just a bit deflated and worn out.

Raheem Sterling has got certain natural gifts that make him a very effective wide forward in the right kind of system and i think playing for Pep would be very good for his development, but he's still wildly inconsistent and in some respects he is still basically dogshit. moving to this current Arsenal side would not be a good move for him at all.

He'd never have had the opportunity to if Barca hadn't completely lost the plot

2nd most expensive player of all time now he's a cunt

Number None, Tuesday, 29 August 2017 22:23 (six years ago) link

Apparently the Ox has turned down Chelsea and wants to go to Liverpool? The rationale being he wants to play central midfield instead of wingback, meanwhile Liverpool are likely to bid a lot less than Chelsea are offering.

Ox in midfield in a Klopp team might actually work IDK.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 30 August 2017 07:03 (six years ago) link

Aurier has apparently got his work permit.

Aurier's a massive jerk but an A+ crosser of the ball tbfttl.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 30 August 2017 15:46 (six years ago) link

but arsenal fans think the best way to troll spurs about his signing is posting pictures of aurier in an arsenal shirt.

hmm, renato sanchez to swansea is interesting.

That is genuinely amazing / very weird.

spurs give no quarter in effort to shore up defense, sign juan foyth

Clement worked with Sanches at Bayern. They sure as hell could use him. Also still rumours Swans are in for our back Arias.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 30 August 2017 16:00 (six years ago) link

looks like ox has signed for lfc.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 30 August 2017 16:39 (six years ago) link

stories that psg offered di maria and/or lucas moura to spurs. i assume wages would prevent this, but is lucas moura any good?

mizzell, Wednesday, 30 August 2017 17:30 (six years ago) link

Poch apparently didn't think he would work in the Premiership, but would have said yes to Di Maria if not for his wages.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 30 August 2017 17:49 (six years ago) link

the times ive seen him Lucas Moura has looked pretty dope at breaking the line when carrying the ball into the tackle, what with being rapid and muscular and skillful with a low-ish centre of gravity. but as this is football not rugby, and as Spurs have already got several players with similar abilities in this regard (Dembele, lol Sissoko) idk if it's a great loss given that he'd probably be expecting them to match his (presumably) stonking wages.

would be mutiny in the ranks pretty quick if they started bringing in players on c. £200k wages based on everything that's been written about Spurs' current wage structure

Windsor Davies, Wednesday, 30 August 2017 18:17 (six years ago) link

Would be the required event to raise all salaries to where they should be with all contracts to have a stfu Danny rose now u cunt clause tho

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Wednesday, 30 August 2017 18:43 (six years ago) link

According to Sky Fernando Llorente is off to Spurs. Rip Janssen.

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 31 August 2017 08:51 (six years ago) link

Lol West Brom are willing to pay £25m for Janssen. Where the fuck did all this money come from?

Matt DC, Thursday, 31 August 2017 09:06 (six years ago) link

reading some fun stuff this morning about Mahrez hanging around Orly airport waiting for somebody to tell his helicopter where to go

Heh, yeah it's shaping up nicely.

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 31 August 2017 09:27 (six years ago) link

apparently West Brom can't afford Janssen unless they can offload Chadli first, presumably for something in the region of £25m

a hulking and impenetrable dump (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 31 August 2017 09:45 (six years ago) link

Yep, they want £26m from Swansea for him.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Thursday, 31 August 2017 09:47 (six years ago) link

"Where the fuck did all this money come from?"

English football is basically a Ponzi scheme at this point

a hulking and impenetrable dump (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 31 August 2017 09:55 (six years ago) link

Chadli and Janssen would work quite well together I'd have thought?

Matt DC, Thursday, 31 August 2017 09:56 (six years ago) link

You're right

Kane out chadli in

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Thursday, 31 August 2017 10:35 (six years ago) link

Need it be said that at half a Kyle walker chadli would be a steal

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Thursday, 31 August 2017 10:36 (six years ago) link

Llorente would be an excellent signing but I can see Swansea failing to sign a replacement in time and the deal falling through.

Matt DC, Thursday, 31 August 2017 11:52 (six years ago) link

Feels insane that they're even considering selling the player who could be the difference between survival or not.

Matt DC, Thursday, 31 August 2017 11:52 (six years ago) link

Leicester have bid £20m for Callum Chambers but Arsenal want £28m.

Surely they've got to buy some new defenders?

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Thursday, 31 August 2017 12:00 (six years ago) link

xp Swansea are in for a return of Bony, no?

Striker, strong lad, has been abused as a winger last season and complained about it, gets to be first striker this season, but can he resist the howling from the West Midlands?

Honestly, he still has it all to prove, but he's a decent prospect. Cannot imagine PSV selling him after making him important for the first time (and seeing the absolutely dreadful transfer window we're having), but there you go.
