I know the Spanish window doesn't slam shut until tomorrow but Coutinho is currently still a Liverpool player.

Rumours of a Brighton bid for janssen ongoing.

Jesus Christ can u imagine having to pick up the phone to d levy in those circumstances. How many euro in a firstborn

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Thursday, 31 August 2017 23:17 (six years ago) link

How did so many big clubs fuck up so badly yesterday? Never seen so many bungled deals in one day.

Matt DC, Friday, 1 September 2017 06:56 (six years ago) link

I think there is a strong argument for doing your business early, when you aren't negotiating under budding south sea bubble conditions. Maybe even the oligarchs at the big clubs are starting to balk at this escalating madness and deliberating knacking up deals themselves. Mind you, Chelsea still got a very big water bill.

BBC sports gossip lolz this morning

Ross Barkley turned down a move to Chelsea partly because Everton refused to let the 23-year-old midfielder speak with Tottenham. (Guardian)

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, 30, did not complete a move to Everton because his wife rejected it

Footballer Wayne Rooney has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

Rooney, England’s all-time goal scorer, was stopped by police near his home in Cheshire yesterday following an evening out.

A source told Metro.co.uk that he was at Bubble Room bar in Alderley Edge before his arrest and was spotted dancing on the tables and singing Oasis with Burnley player Phil Bardsley.

He then spent the night locked up at a nearby police station.

Number None, Friday, 1 September 2017 10:42 (six years ago) link

asked for a further 150 counts of drink-playing to be taken into consideration

This is only news because England is still confused about this fella

Palace should be fine now we've brought back last season's ringer. Cool how Klopp keeps freezing out rly good players to the point where even selhurst park looks an attractive option.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 2 September 2017 19:10 (six years ago) link

Fifa has rejected Leicester City's application to register midfielder Adrien Silva after the club missed the deadline by 14 seconds.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 6 September 2017 11:12 (six years ago) link

Lol. They'll eat him alive.

He'd been so much better off had he accepted the loan offers from WBA or Brighton, as rumoured. For sure now he'll never play a match for Spurs again.

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 8 September 2017 09:28 (six years ago) link

I'm not sure being Brighton's lone striker this season would have been much fun fwiw. WBA yeah.
