i get it it is as if he is moving club each time they lose

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 10 September 2017 19:54 (six years ago) link

Sacking a permanent manager after fewer than ten games is usually a good sign

imago, Monday, 11 September 2017 11:01 (six years ago) link

Appointing Roy Hodgson usually a better one

imago, Monday, 11 September 2017 11:01 (six years ago) link

See you next season Bananaman Begins

imago, Monday, 11 September 2017 11:01 (six years ago) link

there should be a minimum 12 month lock-in rule for managers, it wd be hilarious

Cheds Baker (Noodle Vague), Monday, 11 September 2017 11:24 (six years ago) link

Hodgson, lol.

It was a hilarious mismatch from the start, but why appoint him in the first place and ask him to implement a new style just to sack him after four matches?*

* I'm aware logic does not apply to football.

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 11 September 2017 11:58 (six years ago) link

Yeah Hodgson isnt going to do much better for them. Bilic could be next in line

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Monday, 11 September 2017 12:03 (six years ago) link

This is fine

The Adventures Of Whiteman (Bananaman Begins), Monday, 11 September 2017 18:43 (six years ago) link

Oof. Huddersfield were really, really poor tonight. Unrecognizable really. No idea what Wagner's idea was - Hammers really aren't good at all - but all they did was walk and pass back and defend. A drubbing.

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 11 September 2017 20:52 (six years ago) link

Yeah 1st time watching Huddersfield and they were poor

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Monday, 11 September 2017 20:55 (six years ago) link

i actually think hodgson will do well (as in maybe avoid relegation) with that side.

-_- (jim in vancouver), Monday, 11 September 2017 21:08 (six years ago) link

same. i can't stand him but he has a proven track record in finishing 11th.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Monday, 11 September 2017 21:20 (six years ago) link

yeah, and the team is crying out for being well-drilled, defensively organized, and moving forward in fast transitions (hoof it up the park).

-_- (jim in vancouver), Monday, 11 September 2017 21:51 (six years ago) link

Which is why itisamystery.jpg why they chose for De Boer in the first place.

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 11 September 2017 21:52 (six years ago) link

"Hey why instead of barely surviving each season we don't try some tiki taka shit this year?"
"Briliant. We'll get De Boer and go for endless passing and transform our whole playing style and identity it will take time but"
*lose four games*
"Forget about De Boer, we can get Hodgson! Hoofing the ball up front, just like the good old days! We'll finish 16th!"

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 11 September 2017 21:55 (six years ago) link

otm

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Monday, 11 September 2017 21:59 (six years ago) link

the de boer thing makes no sense. the folk running the club are total idiots

Second captains was excellent on this and more, delving from this starting point into the post-technical fate of the new EPL and the crisis of faith in the traditional Dutch school via a meandering paean to the impossible stupidity of chairmen

Ringing endorsement, that, will check it out.

Palace have nothing to fear

Crystal Palace 0-1 Southampton

David Pleat

Former Spurs boss on 5 live Sport

Incredible work in the 18-yard box by Southampton to get the ball away. That was really energetic from Palace.

That was tremendous attacking play. That was the first time they had some real intensity. It was a wonderful save too.

That was Loftus-Cheek at his best again.

Crystal Palace have nothing to fear if they can continue at this pace.

So he doesn't want a continuity Liverpool dream-team at Palace, what a shame - they were a very photogenic couple.

I found them a load of laggy duds. But the old classic cricfree has delivered.

calzino, Saturday, 16 September 2017 14:21 (six years ago) link

what a fucking ridic penalty to concede. Lowe lunges at a player on the edge of the box who wasn't going anywhere.

can't break teams down, can't defend.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 16 September 2017 15:55 (six years ago) link

Kind of amazing that a club that took 7 points from 19 away matches last season has taken 5 off Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool already.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 16 September 2017 16:21 (six years ago) link

Kachunga's goal was 100% onside, so "plucky underdogs" Leicester have effectively stole a point today :(

calzino, Saturday, 16 September 2017 16:28 (six years ago) link

can't break teams down, can't defend.

I only saw the last 10 mins. Business as usual so

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Saturday, 16 September 2017 16:32 (six years ago) link

Spurs looks completely bereft of creativity at the moment.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 16 September 2017 17:48 (six years ago) link

Unloading Janssen proving a very costly mistake.

Without joking though, SV otm. They have no idea.

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 16 September 2017 18:05 (six years ago) link

The only objective for the last twenty minutes has been to get Aurier to put crosses in.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 16 September 2017 18:08 (six years ago) link

first time seeing them this season. so slow

tha frash prance (alomar lines), Saturday, 16 September 2017 18:18 (six years ago) link

Aurier should've scored that tbf

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 16 September 2017 18:20 (six years ago) link

He should also have had a penalty. He looked the best player on the pitch by a mile and they might have won had he started.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 16 September 2017 18:24 (six years ago) link

Can't remember a penalty moment, though I've only seen the last 20 mins or so.
