i've been watching Mr. Show and halfway through the Nostradamus skit it goes into a full Woody Allen pastiche complete w black and white "archival" footage and title cards

two weeks pass...

wow just watched "The Ten" and the whole thing feels like a pastiche of Allen's *earlier* comedic style - heavily endebted to the structure and tone of stuff like Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, Sleeper, Love and Death, his NY Stories segment. It isn't really much good but I was surprised to see Wain & co. go so hard in that direction.
