Good lord, David Fricke gives it four and a half stars on Rolling Stone site:

Yeah, the five star coup is reserved for the new Springsteen alone, apparently.
― JN$OT, Saturday, 6 October 2007 17:50 (sixteen years ago) link
Interesting. I thought ALL "contractually obligated" reviews were 5 stars in RS. Maybe Mick didn't return Jann's latest email and was docked a half? Obviously, Bruce knows how to IM a friend.
Could "Chrome Dreams II" be the next five star album? It is Neil, after all.
Could Radiohead? They're "Cutting Edge" enough. Or do we have to wait for the new REM?

has Mick ever listened to "Let's Work"?

probably -- that's why he was running like a girl in the song's video.

Yeah, I heard the Solitare mix on the radio last month (before it was on the Superbowl commercial) and and had the exact same thought.

hmmmGuess Who’s In Mick Jagger’s New Supergroup?
A crazy lineup of people! Namely: the Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, Damian Marley, and A.R. Rahman (of Slumdog Millionaire fame in America, and just regular all-around fame in India). They're called Super Heavy; they've been together for eighteen months; and they're planning on dropping their debut in September. Wow! So: Either these people have the most scintillating conversations ever heard, or they just sit around after practice avoiding eye contact.

I'll defend the cover art of Primitive Cool, which I think is awesome, and also I had She's The Boss on LP when I was a kid and I can still sing the chorus to "Lucky in Love," having not heard it in like 25 years.

it is funny how stubborn jagger is -- i bet if he hired t-bone burnett or someone and made a straightforward blues/folk/rock record he'd have grammys galore. but he sticks with the idea of being a current pop star for some reason. it's almost admirable.

I've read some stuff from Rick Rubin re:Wandering Spirit, and that's basically what he wanted to do for him on that album. They went as far as cutting a bunch of still-unreleased blues songs w/The Red Devils backing him up, but Jagger vetoed them in favor of stuff he was more "into".

lol at wikipediaInitially conceived to help promote the launch of a new platform being developed by Nokia for entertainment media on their smartphones,[citation needed] the band was originally composed of The Rolling Stones lead vocalist Mick Jagger, former Eurythmics guitarist Dave Stewart, Devon singer Joss Stone, and Bob Marley's youngest son Damian. Jagger and Stewart then called in Indian musician A. R. Rahman[2]Eventually the Nokia deal collapsed.[citation needed] They decided to continue, presenting themselves as having formed completely on their own, and not as a somewhat prefabricated unit, put together mainly for a communications corporation.[citation needed] The group began the works of their self-titled debut album in early 2009 when Jagger, Stewart, Joss Stone, Damian and Rahman experimented at a studio in Los Angeles, trying to "write songs which had meaning". They recorded about 35 hours of music with some songs originally lasting "an hour and 10 minutes" before they were whittled down.[3] The album was previewed at Jim Henson Studios, Los Angeles, on 30 June 2011. The band played eight of the recorded songs at the event.[4] Their debut single, "Miracle Worker", released on 6 July received mostly positive reviews.[5][6]

A good way of putting it. Maybe his guitar squiggles and beard signify sincerity. He's done decent yeoman's work for Bryan Ferry.
