It’s really only brodeur. Roy was the last of the psycho goalies. Hasek was kind of a freak. After that first Chicago cup and they ditched Khabi I decided that goalies are actually fungible/glorified relief pitchers

brodeur is a hall of famer and then some for 20 years but he was never a guy that clamored inside heads like hasek imo

Everyone compares Gretz to Ruth in terms of dominance over the field so that comparison is correct, I suppose. The euro influence wasn’t as pronounced as it is now.

Brodeur has kinda become the archetype for big goalies, even after the Finnish/catch everything school came around. He has a longer tail. Hasek is mythic tho, I agree.

Seems weird to say Brown is the best LA player of all time when Gretzky played on that team.

Gretzky had some fine years in LA, but was also hobbled by injuries. got his team to the finals once and lost (Hrudey in goal, so i realize this this may not be fair). His best years were in Edm though.
Robitaille is my fave King all-time so i don't discount him at all, but DB is such a complete player. I've never seen anybody else lay big clean hits on people while in the same motion turn a fine offensive play the way he does. And he does it everyday. And he's captained 2 cup-winning teams.
