i have a weird affection for "body like a back road" which I'm going to vote for. "it ain't me" is lovely imo, tho i didn't really go for the rest of selena gomez in 2017. i will stan for "i don't wanna live forever" but this really cheesy eurohouse remix with fake vocals. i thought "there's nothing holdin' me back" might be on here, i dig that one.

according to this slide of the 'hitmakers' feature this list is linked to, "bodak yellow" was 'days from entering the top 30', meaning the song broke too late in their data collection period, which only goes up to november 2nd. most of the songs on this list took off in spring or earlier.

interesting to see "goosebumps" on this list -- it had a long chart run but never even broke the top 30

also "dna" is unique on this list in that, despite charting well, it never achieved broad acceptance at any radio format (altho the station in my city played it a lot, which i enjoyed)

There are six that I am able to call to mind when I read the title. Of them, "Mask Off" is easily my favourite; "Bad and Boujee" #2. (Based on my guitar teaching experience, Imagine Dragons was popular with teenage girls in Ottawa suburbs so idk if I buy "red state music for future wife abusers"; not a fan of the song, though).

How is fucking "Closer" by the fucking Chainsmokers not on this fucking list of hit shit where it belongs?

i always sorta liked sadcore mumbling rappers but i never thought they'd dominate the charts. seems weird.

It's more that (I can't vouch for da kidz in the UK), while I've heard Mask Off on the radio here, it's hardly ubiquitous and trap artists just aren't close to becoming household names over here. It dumbfounds me that a band like Migos are quite so famous over there. Also 'Mask Off', even by Future's standards is a fairly nothingy song.

'Mask Off' is #13 in the equivalent list for UK Spotify. To give you some context that's two below 'Galway Girl' and four above the Harry Styles single. It's huge here.

I had to go with "Bad & Boujee" because I definitely listened to it the most. "Humble", "Goosebumps", "Bounce Back" and "Mask Off" were contenders. "Wild Thoughts" too just because of Rihanna.
