Had to check but Spurs are actually *below* Arsenal with a game for the gooners to spare. That's just taking the piss. Poch out.

Burnley two points behind with a game in hand.

Spurs could be in 7th spot tomorrow.

JESUS CHRIST JESSE!!!

:-)

That's not a good goal tbh

was wondering how long you'd take

Number None, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:14 (six years ago) link

It's weird how the table can mess with your head. Arsenal seem in a perpetual crisis. Spurs seem ok because Kane scores a lot. Chelsea ditto as Arsenal, and yet are clinging on, in desperate fashion though tbf. And yet and yet, Spurs could be 7th tomorrow. Funny that, facts.

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:15 (six years ago) link

Watford have been great this season! but mainly offensively, seem to be switching cbs a bit and prodl kabesele seemed slow on every attack

nxd, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:19 (six years ago) link

Lindelof pretty much completely shut down Richarlison tonight

we were ceding the midfield to them all game though

Number None, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:20 (six years ago) link

oh and Lukaku, despite playing a good part in the first and third goals, is worryingly out of form. Confidence looks completely shot

Number None, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:21 (six years ago) link

Ah look it doesn't have to be good when you run the length of the pitch and score and fair play to him unlike the lad but I'm right and you know it

moyesery loves kompany (darraghmac), Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:21 (six years ago) link

Fair play to him I like the lad etc

moyesery loves kompany (darraghmac), Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:22 (six years ago) link

Hehe. Yeah, Lukaku will be just fine. Not worried about him at all tbh.

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:23 (six years ago) link

oh I know what you mean, but you always say that after those type of solo efforts

It wasn't a great goal, but it was certainly a good one given the context

Number None, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:24 (six years ago) link

I'm fairly worried about his overall game tbh

shit first touch/hold-up play and way too static

Number None, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:26 (six years ago) link

True but he's not *getting* a lot of usable stuff as of late tbh. He's had quite some tap-in goals before, put needs to put in the work as of late. The others don't really seem to be able to find him rn, but it'll be totally fine. And I've no doubt he's ok with a game like tonight, working his ass off w/ different goal scorers.

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:29 (six years ago) link

oh we could definitely be playing more to his strengths but he still missed an absolute sitter and generally looks really hesitant in front of goal (even when he scored against Newcastle he took an age to finish it)

He's also now in the Zlatan (of last season) role where he's literally never subbed

Number None, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:32 (six years ago) link

It’ll pick up for him now that pogba’s back. Mkhi is really the one to worry about

damian green is people (NickB), Tuesday, 28 November 2017 22:34 (six years ago) link

he's a goner

Pards in at West Brom to take them as far as he can

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 11:11 (six years ago) link

Dangerously close to the Albion Christmas party.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 11:22 (six years ago) link

So, Sammy Lee. In the catalogue of players I've seen score against Everton in Goodison derbies, I'd rather have David Johnson on the EFC staff, for obvious reasons. Plus Lee was offside (18/10/80).

Michael Jones, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 11:46 (six years ago) link

What about Sammy Lee?

Action of Boyle Man Prompts Visitor to Stay (Tom D.), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 11:58 (six years ago) link

Joining Allardyce at Goodison, apparently. Where he will then bounce on the ground, I expect.

Michael Jones, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 12:01 (six years ago) link

Plus Lee was offside (18/10/80).

:D

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 12:03 (six years ago) link

(are those showing up? i've a no-link policy wrt the DM so copy pasted them)

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 12:06 (six years ago) link

surely the fact that Sammy was crap is a mitigating factor?

Centrist Pred (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 12:13 (six years ago) link

For a club paying twp a million a month?

moyesery loves kompany (darraghmac), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 12:15 (six years ago) link

Mitigating in the sense that it's ok to have a Red on the bench because he wasn't very good? He seemed to do just fine in that Paisley side.

Anyway, other supposedly lousy Liverpool players who've scored against us in derbies: Rosenthal, Babbel, Kewell, Alan Frigging Waddle, Crazy Horse, Brian Bloody Hall, ok that's enough. (You're forgetting all the own goals, Mike!)

Michael Jones, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 13:58 (six years ago) link

babbel was pretty good imo.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 14:22 (six years ago) link

what we'd give for babbel, henchoz, hyypia and... ziege or whoever these days.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 14:23 (six years ago) link

Pards and Allardyce back in one day. What a time to be alive.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 14:32 (six years ago) link

Apryl in Pallardyce

moyesery loves kompany (darraghmac), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 14:34 (six years ago) link

babbel was pretty good imo.

― Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 14:22 (forty-three minutes ago)

yeah wtf leave babbel out of this! he was decent (still is)

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 15:07 (six years ago) link

Still is? He retired in 2007. I'm talking Markus, not Ryun. But fair enough, I only really mentioned him because he was basically a non-scoring defender who somehow managed to get one in a derby. I guess he was well regarded. Hall too. I'm not back-pedalling on Emlyn though.

We were 2-0 up in that match when Lee scored, btw. Ended 2-2. (We were played off the park, Jim McDonagh made half a dozen ridiculous saves. It was terrifying).

Michael Jones, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 15:50 (six years ago) link

ah right i thought you were referring to Ryan

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 16:04 (six years ago) link

markus was better than ryan imo.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 16:21 (six years ago) link

Markus a very solid plays-full-back-probably-prefers-centre-half def

moyesery loves kompany (darraghmac), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 16:55 (six years ago) link

In my mind he was doing the whole marauding attacking fullback thing really early for the Premiership. I always thought he got a horrifically bad injury but didn't know about his illness, he just seemed to disappear altogether.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 16:59 (six years ago) link

My paid (!) sportsing channel always broadcasts all EPL games but tonight decided to only broadcast... Everton-WHU tonight. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 20:13 (six years ago) link

They're not even really broadcasting the match; I've seen more 'Big Sam in the stands'-shots than actual fitba.

a preview of Everton games to come

Impressive to see Moyes having such an immediate effect on West Ham

groovypanda, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 20:34 (six years ago) link

Damn you. xxp

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 20:35 (six years ago) link

I've got a Russian stream from the Emirates. We conceded early to a pretty tidy goal, but otherwise Arsenal aren't looking that impressive at all, and we should have had a pen - but as Burnley learned on saturday - these fuckers still get the bigclub special reffing.

calzino, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 20:36 (six years ago) link

We have started with Quaner who is so clumsy and inept 90% of the time that he sometimes lulls defences into a false sense of security.

calzino, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 20:37 (six years ago) link

Peak Moyes to be brought in as the saviour lord jesus christ only to lose 4/5-0 to a team in possibly even more disarray.

Dutch tv otm.
