When I walk down the street and no ones around I say outloud “hey mang”

is women greeting a group of women as "heeey guys" a Minnesota thing or all over?

my mom walked up to the cash registers (no line) at a food place with me and asked "which of you guys is taking orders" and both cashiers were women

“Guys” is not a gendered term anymore. “You guys” is always preferable to “you women.”

well Midwestern normies were leading the charge on that one for the last couple decades

When I was a teacher someone observing me said I shouldn’t call the class “guys” as in “alright guys, let’s get started” because it marginalized the girls. I did not take this criticism seriously.

Like it was English class the girls were the only ones who participated anyway. I think they knew it wasn’t bro hour.

Not the only ones but you know—hyperbole. There were some excellent male students in that class.
