something about old technology culture makes me feel particularly nostalgic in a way other ruminations on the past do not. outside "the circle game" or "sunrise, sunset" nothing more acutely makes me feel the pain of past time and lost promise than reading an old bbs post, abandoned usenet forum, or trying to connect to an irc channel that no longer exists (or even worse, still exists w/ an auto-op and a channel name/description and yet no one has been in it for a decade). even thinking about certain MOOs/MUDs can get me weepy. i mourn nothing of my youth but the time i wasted on outdated technology.

Some of these look alarmingly like tart cards.
