everything i've seen regarding MA implementation has been an embarrassment

(•̪●) (carne asada), Tuesday, 9 January 2018 14:40 (six years ago) link

yeah, my neighborhood had a local dispensary owner blocked because of kickbacks. so annoying

yea medical rollout has been a nightmare in boston. that was passed in 2012 iirc and dispensaries finally opened, what, last year?

marcos, Tuesday, 9 January 2018 15:24 (six years ago) link

nightmare in boston MA i meant

marcos, Tuesday, 9 January 2018 15:25 (six years ago) link

a deviation from the topic here, but has anyone else noticed the increase in dispensaries securing their doors (like using a buzzer system). in the last week there was one guy who stole $120 by hitting decline on the debit machine and bolting and an armed gunman wearing a mask trying to get beyond the buzzer locked door.

I just buy online, and am rarely disappointed.

There's been a string of dispensary robberies in Southern California throughout the year.

Elvis Telecom, Wednesday, 10 January 2018 09:05 (six years ago) link

This would not have been necessary if Christy had not done everything he could in order to decimate the original bill. Good riddance to the tube of shit !

I got certified for the NY MM program today after a rather desultory consult with a midtown Gastroenterologist!

Have now registered for a card on ny state website which will be mailed to me, hopefully damn soon. At which point I can do to the dispensary in union square.

One iffy point: he specified high-THC low-CBD and I was very much expecting the other way around?

Winter. Dickens. Yes. (Jon not Jon), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 20:49 (six years ago) link

yeah that's wrong

gbx, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 20:59 (six years ago) link

for most dx's, i dunno about any GI-specific indications for THC

gbx, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 21:00 (six years ago) link

NY MM is a fucking joke as well

(•̪●) (carne asada), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 21:10 (six years ago) link

you'd be better off with one if the delivery guys in NYC. My nephew has a guy come by with the whole assortment of labeled meds from CA

(•̪●) (carne asada), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 21:12 (six years ago) link

yeah... in PA i can qualify for MM and i might do it for the novelty (and i guess to have the RX on hand in case i ever get stopped? unlikely) but it seems like it'll still be cheaper and easier to use other means of procurement

Mordy, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 21:15 (six years ago) link

maybe once I have it I can supplement with some drops of CBD oil at the same time? Bad idea?

Winter. Dickens. Yes. (Jon not Jon), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 21:22 (six years ago) link

it would not hurt imo

All my paperwork is done and now I just wait 4 to 6 weeks while DC takes its sweet sweet time.

mom tossed in kimchee (quincie), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 21:51 (six years ago) link

High THC/low CBD just means it's basically the same mix as anything you've ever used recreationally. If that has worked for your GE issues (Crohn's?) then you don't need to supplement CBD.

louise ck (milo z), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 22:06 (six years ago) link

I've... never really smoked.

Winter. Dickens. Yes. (Jon not Jon), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 22:19 (six years ago) link

Mordy, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 22:24 (six years ago) link

it's v easy anyone can do it but u might cough the first few times

Mordy, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 22:25 (six years ago) link

I never got the fuss, tbh.

pomenitul, Tuesday, 23 January 2018 22:27 (six years ago) link

ah, in case of not being experienced, some CBD drops in advance (they have to be digested, and you need to take a fairly hefty amount - like 20-30mg+ of CBD at once) to dull possible anxiety from the THC is probably advisable.

brimstead otm x100, just waited 20 mins behind a bunch of basics asking stupid stupid questions so that I could pay $70 for an eighth and a joint (in fancy bourgeoise packaging) which was then slapped with a 20% tax by the city (and i had to pay $3 for a childproof security bag)

I regret voting for legalization

the late great, Friday, 2 February 2018 03:52 (six years ago) link

I mean not really because fuck the drug war and the prison industry but this is wack

when i was in Oregon prices were low and quality was high - maybe it will just take awhile for the market to adjust

the late great, Friday, 2 February 2018 03:54 (six years ago) link

Tempting to say just decriminalize it and wipe convictions instead of the regulatory processes but let's be honest about what unregulated capital would do with weed products. There'd be a higher percentage of DDT than THC.

louise ck (milo z), Friday, 2 February 2018 04:11 (six years ago) link

i should shut up, american spirits cost like $10 here now so it's not like a 20% vice tax is that out of line w/ everything else, and the product is higher quality ...

the late great, Friday, 2 February 2018 04:21 (six years ago) link

delivery services are getting very popular, probably because they're dodging the taxes and passing on the savings to the consumer. wonder how that's going to get shut down?

the late great, Friday, 2 February 2018 04:24 (six years ago) link

xp to Jon: you really need to hang out with me sometime soon. I will explain things.

Chocolate-covered gummy bears? Not ruling those lil' guys out. (ulysses), Friday, 2 February 2018 04:32 (six years ago) link

tlg 70 for an eighth is outrageous, ounces are on special for 100 here in Oregon

I think you're right that is is a new market/supply + demand issue, hopefully things will get better. the childproof bags are so wasteful!

sleeve, Friday, 2 February 2018 05:07 (six years ago) link

yeah it is! i think you can get good quality ounces for like $199 if you use a delivery service. i should shop around more.

because of zoning laws + permit uncertainty there are only like 5-10 legal dispensaries in a county of 3 million right now, that's probably contributing to the situation

the late great, Friday, 2 February 2018 05:14 (six years ago) link

it took like 2 years for the price to settle down here in CO, it used to be like 200+/ounce for okay weed or 350+ for good stuff right after amendment 64 passed, nowadays i got a place i go to down the street that has great herb for 130/ounce.

you still get hosed at least a bit everywhere for buying, say, an eighth rather than a full ounce, but i mean a whole ounce is a lot of weed... i go through prolly close to an ounce a month btwn myself + smoking out friends and clients, i should write this shit off lol

"The DEA said a huge percentage of the heroin addiction starts with prescriptions. That may be an exaggerated number..they had it as high as 80% . we think a lot of this is starting with marijuana and other drugs..but we'll see what the facts show"

hey now don't start worrying yourself with things like facts

(•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 7 February 2018 18:20 (six years ago) link

spinning around til you get dizzy is a gateway "drug"
if you get into heroin, you're likely to be at least willing to try any and all other drugs. It's like saying baby food is a gateway to foie gras.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 7 February 2018 18:27 (six years ago) link

They screwed up not cracking down on day one, I'm actually starting to get hopeful that the political mood has solidified for some version of decriminalization or legalization just about everywhere that rolling it back would have consequences.

louise ck (milo z), Wednesday, 7 February 2018 18:30 (six years ago) link

blaming weed for opiate addiction is like blaming the home baking industry for national obesity.

one month passes...

He's smart to recognize that legal pot will be easier to control than illegal pot, and be a net revenue generator, not a prison-crowding drain on the state budget. Also smart to want to get NJ up and running before NY gets onto the legalization bandwagon. Let's hope NJ's citizens are equally smart.

New Jersey Responsible Approaches to Marijuana Policy, a group that opposes marijuana, said Tuesday that the tax revenues from legal pot "pale in comparison to the ... lost tourism dollars"

How does that work?

it seems like it's impossible to find mids here unless you go to the trap (and even then it's hard) which is kind of a pain. one of the reasons I had to quit tbh.
