yeah, i found casanova on the cardi b tape from last year and thought he WAS busta. both brooklyn dudes with caribbean parentage, think he comes by it honestly.

The new RjMrLa & Dj Mustard is good. I feel a bit depressed that this sound is probably now perfectly boring street rap, and even more depressed that I'm so out of the loop I only found out about it because of pitchfork, but if you miss that ratchet sound, it's a nice throwback.

Casanova is pretty gully I think down w/Taxstone and embroiled in that whole Troy Ave/Taxstone/Irving Plaza saga

well drakeo & greedo are post-ratchet, and are def not boring.

the rj tape is pretty decent but mainly i think cuz its biting greedo to an extent

yeah maxo kream always seemed to me like he was that guy with good taste (maybe even good ideas) but completely incapable of putting together a good project but he nailed this one.

I’m a maxo skeptic, his rap style never really connected for me, I’ll check it out though

i mean he's still a trend hopper, but somehow he does carti and rich the kid better than asap and 2014 atlanta trap.

Don't feel like starting an A$AP Ferg thread just to note that Plain Jane is probably the worst song in regular hip-hop radio rotation right now.

He has some corny tendencies, but I think Ferg is one of the most fascinating writers in commercial rap right now. He's writing with more autobiographical detail in his music than just about anybody else in his echelon, and I respect how even on a track like Plain Jane he continues to flesh out his family tree. After Always Strive and Prosper I feel legitimately vested in the characters he details

I guess Culture II is official...I'm kinda worried that Culture will sort of represent the apex of Migos but also the time when their thing got kind of polished and codified into something that isn't quite as interesting

I think Culture II would be pretty good if it were just Stir Fry 11 times in a row
