I earnestly don't understand what you want the CTH people to do here. they're different podcasts with different aims and some (but hardly total) audience overlap

and again (as a non CT Listener) I think there's a difference between saying "here's a thing that is defensible on grounds of being a Social Good" vs "here's a thing I divert myself with"

but I'm sure all the bands everyone in this thread listens to are morally unimpeachable

is the objection to the fogle jokes that they somehow harm victims of sexual abuse? Because I kind of think that’s treating victims of sexual abuse like they are made out of tissue paper. It’s not like the jokes are at the expense of the victims. And tbh there is something very darkly funny and indicting is corporate capitalism about the whole subway jared phenomenon.

I only browse there in the rotation of awwww and DIY subreddits I subscribe to but 2/3+ of the sub is news articles and talking about politics. When there is Twitter drama talk it's about the way that drama infects the DSA. They're less obsessive about the podcast than any given mid-00s ILX thread about anything.

My objection is overuse and it's not a very good joke - they've never really connected it to a critique of capitalism and marketing (except one episode where they paused and mentioned that Subway actually covered up his assaults).

As for CumTown, I can't even remotely defend it. It's just an hour a week of compartmentalized nihilism for me, but it's probably not good for the soul even at that.
