I'm sure the forced early changes don't help but I have no fucking clue what system we're playing here and neither do the players.

Beaten again? Rodgers out!

Dreadful news. RIP.

Alex McLeish? FFS.

(about to get the Scotland gig again, according to reports)

ailsa, Thursday, 15 February 2018 18:04 (six years ago) link

Oh God no. We may as well give up.

three weeks pass...

“I’d saved the first shot and I looked up and saw the ball going to him,” said Bain. “I just thought, ‘aw naw’. Luckily he hit the post and I was able to scramble and catch the ball before it went over the line.

Aw naw indeed.

Buff Jeckley (Tom D.), Monday, 12 March 2018 13:57 (six years ago) link

In hysterics at that miss.

Celtic goals were all really good. Our defence was a shambles at times. Ntcham had his best game in the hoops so far.

Good to see Murty's assertion that they will never have a better chance to beat us. Fingers crossed he's right.

Chunky Backgammon (onimo), Monday, 12 March 2018 16:24 (six years ago) link

Boyata, say no more, a manager like Mourinho would have subbed him after 15 minutes.

Buff Jeckley (Tom D.), Monday, 12 March 2018 16:42 (six years ago) link

Morelos looking like a baw-faced toddler who'd dropped his lollipop added to the hilarity - mind you, he always looks like that.

Buff Jeckley (Tom D.), Monday, 12 March 2018 16:45 (six years ago) link

Our defence is mince, both of their goals were howlers.

incredibly satisfying and important win though.

Louis Jägermeister (jim in vancouver), Monday, 12 March 2018 16:46 (six years ago) link

Still chuckling at that miss. Boyata gives me the screaming heebie-jeebies. Collum doing the "12th man" tradition proud, along with his comedy Tory sidekick with the flag.

ailsa, Monday, 12 March 2018 21:25 (six years ago) link

i honestly couldnae believe the linesman, seems like he lost his head there and the mask slipped big time

Louis Jägermeister (jim in vancouver), Monday, 12 March 2018 21:30 (six years ago) link

Aye, think he forgot he wasn't in the stands.

Can't find it just now to link it, but the clips I've seen of the Rangers TV commentary is hilarious.

(xp) Abercromby Avenue, nice one. McGarvey Mews would have had a nice ring to it. Of course, I'd have voted for my Uncle Jim if given the chance.

I'm not one to share Record stories but holy shit how bad is this?

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-boss-brendan-rodgers-no-12196511

Away from home, gifted them 2 goals, played with ten men and a third choice keeper and we still score three amazing goals but Rodgers was lucky? This article is all ifs buts and bollocks.

While I'm here: still absolutely love that people call him Barry Fud.

Chunky Backgammon (onimo), Friday, 16 March 2018 18:53 (six years ago) link

I for one totally respect the managerial expertise of a man who couldn't get Clyde out of the bottom division

ailsa, Friday, 16 March 2018 20:43 (six years ago) link

celtic's defensive frailty is a worry and rodger's has to be held responsible, but tactically he got everything right in that game. Fair enough the win was a bit spawny, what with the missed sitter. but say the missed sitter goes in. away from home, derby, coming from behind after shipping bad goals, surviving being down to 10 men for a half hour and getting a draw would've also been a good result tbh.

Louis Jägermeister (jim in vancouver), Friday, 16 March 2018 20:49 (six years ago) link

michty me "rodger's" lol

Louis Jägermeister (jim in vancouver), Friday, 16 March 2018 20:50 (six years ago) link

Here comes the new boss
Worse than the old boss

Bimlo Horsewagon became Wheelbarrow Horseflesh (aldo), Saturday, 24 March 2018 00:12 (six years ago) link

Began by upholding that fine old Scottish tradition of not picking Celtic players if you can possibly avoid it.

If Hibs can keep it together then Rangers could well end up in 4th place, yaaaaaassssssssss!

celtic to win the treble
celtic to win the league against rangers
rangers to finish 4th

all of these things could happen

Chunky Backgammon (onimo), Sunday, 8 April 2018 10:44 (six years ago) link

Fuck Hamilton's shitty pitch forever. Surely the one thing you're supposed to get with artificial turf is that it's at least flat.

Chunky Backgammon (onimo), Sunday, 8 April 2018 12:47 (six years ago) link

Turns out the Rangers really are shite just as the song says. I honestly can't remember a more one sided game against them or their dead predecessors.

Hysterical that they and their fans cheered getting drawn against us.

a simian who gave no fucks (onimo), Sunday, 15 April 2018 20:46 (six years ago) link

Dying laughing at them. Utterly fucking gash, apart from that couple of minutes when Craig Gordon actually had stuff to do.

I also weirdly feel sorry for Graeme Murty because he seems a decent and rational sort of a chap who deserves better than being in charge of that shambles, and I prefer when the comedy happens to the likes of insane guys like Caixinho or bitter old bawbags like Walter Smith.

Now I can just hope that this upsets them so much that they go into freefall. Aberdeen can certainly overtake them, and I reckon Hibs might be in with a shout of it as well. Imagine they didn't even qualify for Europe. Still, would stop them getting knocked out by the fourth placed team in the Vatican City pub league or whatevs.

ailsa, Sunday, 15 April 2018 21:13 (six years ago) link

Also, forgot to revive this thread last week to commemorate John Lambie. I'm already considering "tell him he's Pele and get him back on" as the thread title for next season in his honour.

ailsa, Sunday, 15 April 2018 21:16 (six years ago) link

Aberdeen will Hibs it.

Hibs look more resilient under Lennon but I still think they'll Hibs it.

It's a shame Killie wasted a third of a season before getting good or things would be even tighter for Europa places.

a simian who gave no fucks (onimo), Sunday, 15 April 2018 23:38 (six years ago) link

They might be mince but Rangers have scored more league goals than Celtic this season - because they routinely roll over Dundee et al 4-0. Their goal difference is pretty good.

the john lambie news hit me hard. a sort of platonic ideal of the scottish fitba man. rip.

i didn't bother getting up in the early hours to watch this because i felt extremely confident we'd do rangers.

also because i was awake until about an hour before kickoff and drunk i suppose
