I like Thorgy just for her weirdness, and not having that on the show is a shame. The hypercritical self-consciousness, not so much.

Chi Chi's judging was REALLY weird. None of the judges critiqued her Patti, and the only negative things were that she should take off her jacket, and that her dress was basic.

I wonder about the wisdom of ShangeLLa proposing mutual bone throwing to both Thorgy and Kennedy, since one of them is being quasi-eliminated and has a chance to come back from limbo later in the competition.

Ben's LSFYL was genius, but that can only be a one-time thing.

ChiChi’s runway wig was terrible too, it wasnt just the dress being kinda basic

I thought the challenge was a little bit disapointing after last year's great Herstory of the World and it had mostly to do with the material. Using RuPaul songs was kind of lazy on the writer's part imo. They could have done so much with these divas and as a matter of fact, the queen who didn't get a RuPaul song to perform had the best part. Although I have to give a shout out to whoever did the vocals cause they nailed everyone.

I thought Chi Chi's Patty Labelle was perfect and I don't know what the side eyes and embarassed smiles from the judges were about during Thorgy's number. I'm not sure why she was complaining about getting Stevie Nicks though, since she's a huge fan and it's obvious they chose the best divas to fit each queen. I agree with VG that her excuses on the runway probably helped her land in the bottom. I'm enjoying that there is still no real elimination strategy consensus among the queens so far.

This is playing on Comedy Central in the UK, and not only do we have to have five ad breaks per episode, but last night they put one of those ad breaks right in the middle of the diva routine. Like, just as Aja was being dragged around on a chair. FFS.

I sort of missed Trixie this episode. I feel like she's being overshadowed a little bit.

We do get a fair bit of her as a talking head though, where she's been delivering the lulz pretty consistently.

Speaking of the UK, I hear Courtney Act won Celebrity Big Brother.

i know they are shady & boot queens they don’t like and I know Raven is not a Trixie fan bcz she hates her makeup. but it still bugged me lol

But: on the upside Mariah said Milk’s Celine Dion outfit looked like Chyna from WWE and I died. BEST BURN.

Raven's makeup looked about as blended as Trixie's in that episode.

Raven doesn't boot fair, and she knows it. And that's kind of part of the appeal I gather. That segment only works for me when Raja's there, not caring.

yeah I don’t like it as much without Raja. They have good chemistry.

I also thought Raven didn't like Trixie, but she said 2 episodes ago that her makeup was always great and that she did one of the best makeup jobs out of all the queens from Drag Race because it's extreme but always blended. I think her comment about the jumpsuit was more ignorant than shady.

Also I could totally see Mariah Carey wearing that fringed bathing suit. It didn't have to be an exact replica of something she's worn.

next week is the crossover episode with America's Next Top Model and I am TOO EXCITED

Overall a really fun & great episode. The challenge was a hoot, Bendela and Trixie and Kennedy were hilarious omg. And yknow, I am not sad to see Milk go bcz she was working my last nerve with all of her needy delusional nonsense. I mean, all things being fair sure bounce ChiChi but fuck it, Kennedy’s way def makes for more interesting tv.

Bebe should've been in the bottom for totally missing the chocolate-covered cherry joke IMO.

Milk has been pure mediocrity, she didn't even make a good villain. And double poo on her for depriving us of Trixie lols.

Yeah those two were on point.

Shangela’s was good but it felt more Shangela than anything else, i didnt really rate it as a top performance? idk

Yeah I didn't get that much comedy from Shangela, but I guess aside from Bendela she went for it the most.

I felt bad for Trixie. She was clearly overthinking, but I can understand how she is putting too much pressure on herself. The expectations on her are high and she's starting to freak out for not living up to them. She was good last week though.

Yeah that's a metaphor that's getting a little too played out here.

Part of the reason Trixie & Katya ie Brian & Brian became close irl is becaise their personalities are very much fueled by anxiety & self-consciousness, struggling with weight or addiction, depression etc. And with Trixie returning again to the show that was the elephant in the room, even though she’s improved & is more confident now her subconscious mantra still had to be oh god what if i fail. And when it happened she spiked through the roof bcz she thought it was over.

My hope is that this moment for her was like Alaska’s breakdown in her first season, where that on-camera panic kind of breaks through the subconscious doubt & she can start embracing her full power & can stop carrying the selfdoubt everywhere.

I don't know how I have managed to live this long without watching this show, but I just started this month and am on Season 5. One curiosity though, the term "fish, fishiness, serving fish" to imply femininity??? I had never heard this before. I'm a little surprised that it seems to still be widely used considering that they stopped pushing she-mail.

I mean, everything about Drag Race will soon be overruled by the new wokeness eventually
