I found a credit card in the street the other day and within 48 hours had located the owner (two towns over) on Facebook, ascertained that she wanted it destroyed, sent her a picture of me cutting it up and received a message of profuse thanks. It was like a window into a bizarre universe where the site had some kind of useful purpose.

I noticed that this thread is on ILM and briefly thought there was a new band called Facebook and I then unfortunately died believing that.
