Both drivers' actions are bad. Carragher does need to take responsibility especially as a famous and well-paid person. But the big picture is that doing anything like this - goading, jeering, even friendly chat out of the window - while driving, is profoundly dangerous -- in the same way that we all know using a mobile phone while driving is. Spitting is nasty but the results of a crash for such reckless driving could be way beyond nasty. That's what they both seem not to understand.

I for one am impressed by his huge spitball. Was he saving it up? Does he do this every day at more or less the same spot? Was it water or perhaps a refreshing beverage?

Google Atheist (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 12 March 2018 16:13 (six years ago) link

Remember when Southampton finished 8th, got to a cup final and then sacked their manager? Great days.

They've just appointed Mark Hughes to save them from relegation.

aw no i enjoyed Southampton's project

Hughes could concieveably have managed two relegated teams in one Premiership season. Would that be unprecedented?

Matt DC, Tuesday, 13 March 2018 11:15 (six years ago) link

Southampton have had a good run at it, time to go down to the Championship for a while.

Yeah re-alph, i would maybe burrow deeper and see if any of the francaises have geographical links or similar to the cité of limoux and the surrounding mountains, perhaps pardieu googled in a chummy getting to connaitre les lads fashion and happened upon yr cave drawings, sparking a crisis of intricate but catastrophic synaptic flares that can only lead to a startling regression from alan pardieu, smooth chinned and suited head of marketing and strategy at le tûne thru bearded alan pardew the coach (villa) to scruffy al what helps the kids (notts county) to neanderth-al in a loincloth (tactics at stoke obv)

so it's pretty much a lock that salah breaks the single season scoring record right?

And yet it's still odds on kdb player of the year. Ok they're gonna win the league but mo is having an unprecedented season

it's sad he was a runner up

as the crows around me grows (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 18 March 2018 09:15 (six years ago) link

Salah has been brilliant but I don't think at the level of, say, Suarez in the season where Liverpool very nearly won the title.

KDB has been the best player in the league this season, which isn't to do Salah down at all but he's been the driving force in their title run. Take him out of the team and I'd not sure they'd be winning it, or at least not by such a ridiculous margin.

Meanwhile Newcastle, who don't have a game this weekend, have taken it upon themselves to play a friendly against Antwerp. It consists of three halves of 45mins each.

Matt DC, Sunday, 18 March 2018 13:19 (six years ago) link

Lol at the fact that these two players were able to just drift away from Chelsea without anyone batting an eyelid.

Matt DC, Sunday, 18 March 2018 13:23 (six years ago) link

^^especially this

i know kore-eda (or something), Sunday, 18 March 2018 13:54 (six years ago) link

Agree Suarez was something else but tbh he's probably the most exciting player I've ever seen for Liverpool. Salah's not as gifted as Suarez but his ability combined with his sheer relentless persistence are insane right now

i know kore-eda (or something), Sunday, 18 March 2018 14:01 (six years ago) link

Having mané and, in particular, firmino alongside doesn't hurt either

Matt u can't have 3 halves pls correct

(robot gives Mum a hot dirty slap) (Bananaman Begins), Sunday, 18 March 2018 18:05 (six years ago) link

Hoap these exciting attacking players have something to spare for the world cup, but who am i kidding, the star of the world cup will be some tunisian guy on loan at FC Sion from Southampton

(robot gives Mum a hot dirty slap) (Bananaman Begins), Sunday, 18 March 2018 18:10 (six years ago) link

think the exciting attacking players might struggle in front of a shit centre midfield and a worse back row

as the crows around me grows (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 18 March 2018 18:15 (six years ago) link

Do belgium have that? Remember they've not got the Wilmots Handicap no more. Idk much abt egypt but i'd guess they have the beating of saudis and russia.

Do hull city have a korean guy who hasn't quite nailed down a starting place in two seasons at the club? Golden boot imo

(robot gives Mum a hot dirty slap) (Bananaman Begins), Sunday, 18 March 2018 18:43 (six years ago) link

Hoap these exciting attacking players have something to spare for the world cup

If City manage to win the league at the earliest possible point, their players will be pretty much walking through the last few weeks of the season, Champions League notwithstanding. Nice long break ahead of the World Cup, probably allowed to bring their own toys and games to the training ground, that sort of thing.

Kinda hope this all happens before we play them tbh.

Matt DC, Sunday, 18 March 2018 20:28 (six years ago) link

we've got them in the penultimate prem game/their last home game, so they might want to put on an exhibition, but hopefully we'll be facing a coked-up/pissed up hologram xi incapable of doing it by then.

Man Utd to discuss ideas for improving Old Trafford atmosphere

Oh I have an idea...

Google Atheist (Le Bateau Ivre), Wednesday, 21 March 2018 14:07 (six years ago) link

Song sheets and continental-style 'cheerleaders' with megaphones are among the ideas being discussed in an effort to improve the atmosphere at Manchester United's home games.

Just give Mourinho the megaphone and let the apocalypse commence.
