Yeah I stopped champing 4s so I can get my 2s/3s back up and running

hey DJP what is it like in 5 star land, if you ended up going there?

I champed a couple of 3 stars (my 2nd black panther & then star lord for the first time) & now have extra nicki minaj & yondu covers so I'm hoping to champ them both before they expire. not impossible.

I still only have a champed Thor, which means I’m sort of in 5-Star land but not enough to be competitive in PvP. I can tell you that SCL8 is now 100% joke and that I will be moving to SCL9 as soon as I get another champ. Also, good God is there a lot of Gambit out there.

Although the new 5* Cap looks like he is going to blow up the entire game the same way Gambit did; I was already hoarding CP while I rebuilt my 2*s and 3*s but my pull goal now might be JJ and nu-Cap instead of finishing my 4*s (sorry Drax, Lockjaw, and MEHulk, I will probably never champ you)

lol hot on the heels of this post, I got a Yellow nu-Cap cover, two AC champ levels, and yet another Lockjaw

I don't think nuCap looks that great. With Daredevil, sure, revive DD to 45% to get true heal and strike tiles. Otherwise he's just a good red damager.

I just championed America Chavez. She's amazing with 5*s. Next up is either Drax or Kate Bishop for the 5* covers. Meanwhile leg tokens keep giving me Kravens, bleh.

lol on DJP’s post I decided to draw one nu-Cap legendary and got a purple. Nice!

Nu-Cap looks like he can slow down Gambit enough for others to kill him, esp if he can drop two countdowns on different colors. I am very interested in running him with AC and Thor and seeing what happens.

Gambit still gains AP to use when the countdowns expire.

I champed Yondu and Nikki Minaj this week. I’m running out of 4 stars! From classics I’ve just Kingpin (and Devil D & Howard I guess). From the newer ones, Sandman, MEH Hulk, BP, Shuri, Jubilee, and Valkyrie. I counted and I need 25 more covers to finish all of them.

Now I have a bunch of 3 stars to farm, as almost each day I 266 another 3 star.

I could champ Drax but I think I’m going to keep rechamping 2*s and 3*s until they’re all done, then level my decently-covered 5*s (Thanos, SS, Gambit, Archangel) so 5Thor and AC have better playmates.

Yeah the 5 star temptations are strong. My Ghost Rider is now 3-5-4. I guess he sucks but still, he does 5 star damage. But yeah, 3 star farming is probably a better bet for me too

PvP is a disaster for me now but PVE is now hilarious; I basically run 5Thor/AC/whichever 5* is boosted and watch cries melt faces. 3-shotting characters with 40K health has not yet lost its entertainment value.

PvP is as easy as it’s ever been for me. I saw that 900 was a Kingpin cover today so I got it without much trouble. Now I’ll champ him and be done with the non-limited classics.

I’ve been playing CL9 in pve and it’s def hard for me. I run AC, whatever 5 Star is buffed, and some buffed champed 4 star. But I go through the health packs usually. I could drop back down to CL8, not sure.

America Chavez, aka the character with all passive powers that dummies on the forums thought was going to be terrible because they didn’t pay attention to what her powers actually do or how they scale with 5* characters.

Basically, if you hoard AP, she starts generating crit tiles, which then set off cascades, which is absolutely lethal if you have a champed 5*; I have 5Thor at 452 and 3-gem crits off of green or red hit for 4.5K. 4-gen crits hit for 9K. It’s amazing.

what's your main source of 5*s? champing 4*s?

Pulling latest 5*s with my most desired 5* as a bonus hero. It used to be pulling classics with my most desired 5* as bonus hero but the hit rate for 5*s wasn’t high enough to make it worth it; when I just pull latest, I get very close to covering the characters I care about (compare my champed 5Thor or my 3/4/5 Gambit to my 0/2/0 Black Bolt, for example).

I was pulling classics when I was really gunning for 4* covers, which helped me champ a lot of them.

Boosted champed Peggy + boosted champed Mockingbird = lol

I just had a match where I held onto blue until Mockingbird’s passive fired Peggy’s blue for free; I then rotated the unstunned character to the back and fired blue again. Three turns later, all opponents were dead.

After drawing two extra 5* Ghost Rider covers, I decided to champ him. Whee! So far my mmr gets me one 5* not quite fully leveled, one boosted 4*, and high level 3* required, in pvp. I can handle this. I did it to zing my stale-ish gameplay and to speed up pve.

Ghost Rider is my next now that I have an extra cover for him as well. He seems like... maybe not that bad?

4* GR is ok! His black is the fun one but it's not as practical as the other two.

still love that they gave America Chavez those little star animations for regular match damage. so goofy

Okoye is finally in latest so I decided to use my 12 pulls to see if I could get one of her covers.

I ended up getting:

Okoye: 1/1/1
JJ: 1 red
Nu-Cap: 1 purple, 2 Yellow

I also got a legendary token and enough CP for another pull, which gave me another black Okoye.

I had zero bonus hero hits.

I’m still boggling.

I think I’ve basically blown my allotment of 5* draws for the rest of the year.

5* life is going well. I can get 575 regularly still in pvp, and pve cl9 is much easier

Amazing luck DJP. I got two Gambit covers in one day a month ago, getting him to 5/2/2, then the game decided I'd had enough 5*s. I've had 10 mostly useless 5* covers since then.

I started playing this again :( God, there are so many 4*'s I don't have. I'm never going to have a playable 4* at this rate.

Patience and bonus heroes are your friend here.

Okoye is ridiculously good, you guys.

I was stockpiling ISO to champ her and got impatient, so I maxed out her level (5/2/5 lvl 435) and her black adds an extra 1168 for each team-up AP you have.

I’m basically running through goon nodes with 2* Storm/2* Magneto, stockpiling team-up AP since Okoye tanks almost everything, then pulling AOEs that hit for 15-25K per target. It’s even worse with any 5* but ESPECIALLY pre-nerf Gambit

So, I am reasonably certain that pre-nerf Gambit's red was not affect by Okoye.

Post-nerf Gambit's red is ABSOLUTELY affected by Okoye. Plus, he makes 3 charged tiles instead of 2 so you can match one if you really need some AP or leave them on the board and watch it stockpile charged tiles.

My current strategy is to let 5Thor get hit until half health, then match team-ups and black so Okoye turns Gambit's red and purple and 5Thor's green into instant death, periodically true healing with Okoye's yellow. I can obliterate practically any PVE node at this point with this strategy.

I am happy with how they nerfed/changed Gambit. His better red means that Black Bolt is no longer needed for charged tiles.

I was enjoying Gambit as a speed-up for AC and I guess he still does that, just not as well.

I leveled my 5* Strange 5-2-5 to 360 and he’s now useful in PVE (esp buffed). With 5* Ghost Rider it’s rainbow. Add AC buffed or not and cruise...
