That one post I'm allowed per year about PSV here. We're champions after beating Ajax' ass 3-0 at home today :D

Well that was the most underwhelming title clincher of all time.

Weird combination of fear, embarrassment and resignation on Rodriguez's face as he celebrated at the final whistle.

Matt DC, Sunday, 15 April 2018 19:32 (six years ago) link

he's had some decent form. imago will be fascinated to learn he has as many fantasy football points as gabriel jesus for barely over half the cost

Soft Brighton penalty thirty seconds after soft Spurs goal.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Tuesday, 17 April 2018 20:13 (six years ago) link

This is worrying though. Chelsea can cut the lead down to five points.

great to see how little depth there is to the spurs squad

ogmor, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 20:23 (six years ago) link

excruciating viewing, nothing coming together, spurs passing game leaves a lot to be desired. lamela has no end product. aurier reminiscent of walker in his athleticism and tendency for reckless moments to cost the team points

there's not quite going to be morris dancing in the lanes of falmer tonight but that's a pretty decent point for bha

They have a pretty gruelling run-out, other than Man City turning up pissed or/and another no show from Man Utd, this might be Brighton's last point of the season.

calzino, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 20:55 (six years ago) link

true but either southampton need at least 8 points form their last few games or stoke probably need 9 points from 4 matches for brighton to sink into the bottom three

xxp
I don't either Southampton or Stoke will get anything more than 4 or 5 points out of those last games, but you never know!

calzino, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 21:08 (six years ago) link

west ham have got a pretty harsh run out btw:

arsenal a
man city h
leicester a
man utd h
everton h

can't see them losing the last one tbh but otoh wouldn't it be teh lolz to see utd and then everton send the moyes man down?

Hereford champions with 100+ points for the third year in a row! (Admittedly in leagues where most of the other teams have grounds 10% the size of Edgar Street)

Will be interesting if we're in the National League North next season, as we'd be playing with Kidderminster Harriers, Stockport County, York City, Boston United, Telford United, Chester and FC United of Manchester!

mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 17 April 2018 22:07 (six years ago) link

"FC United of Manchester"

Lol! I can't even be arsed getting on my high horse about ppl posting fucking made up teams to ILX any more. That's what the Prem does to yah! congrats Aldo and mfktz!

calzino, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 22:16 (six years ago) link

FC United of Manchester are just a weird thing to exist in general

mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 17 April 2018 22:23 (six years ago) link

and then you have Salford city who are also pretty much a vaguely hobbyist Man U surrogate at this point. Can understand the disgust at the glazers etc but eh modern football and they’re hardly the worst of it

either #0 or NBS posted quite a lot about FCUM until I basically bullied them into silence

imago, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 22:49 (six years ago) link

wonder if they still follow them on the sly though

imago, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 22:50 (six years ago) link

imago, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 22:56 (six years ago) link

I doubt i've ever posted about FCUM

lol at the idea of you bullying me into silence though

Number None, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 23:03 (six years ago) link

yeah it was NBS and we pretty much hashed it out this time two years ago

Tim spoke eloquently about why they weren't a force for evil really i mean idec now it's fine

imago, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 23:10 (six years ago) link

I can remember that now. I was probably being an obnoxious prick and got bollocked by Tim for pushing too hard on this "support your local club" canard. Apologies NBS, but I still genuinely hope nothing but the worst on FCUM!

calzino, Tuesday, 17 April 2018 23:28 (six years ago) link

FCUM were one of our earliest patron clubs when we reformed so I have a bit of a soft spot for them regardless.

Anyway, hasn't sunk in blah blah blah. Maybe our worst performance of the season, 1-0 from the spot against a club with no goalkeeper but they all count.

It's going to be strange playing in 'proper' football grounds every week but I'll miss the lower league awaydays. Whether we go north or south will be determined by who goes down and who comes up through the playoffs. North definitely is the harder league.

One of the forgotten stats is that 2 out of the three seasons 100+ points hasn't been enough to get you promoted with us. This year Slough are the only side in the playoffs that can't get to 100 (but it is 99 so ymmv).
