Under no illusions about that.

Such a fine day. So why are Brum and Sunderland winning?

This is how you win the league in style iirc

Totally unexpected today, I had a bad feeling as Kettering have been on a good run but offered nothing. I suppose that's what conceding three in five minutes will do.

Biggest shock today was Gosport winning 7-0. That raises their goal difference to minus 107.

Today was also a home farewell to Rob Purple. A great servant and we'll all remember the opening goal at wembley, the first goal at Alvechurch and the league winning goal at Biggleswade.

Biggest shock today was Gosport winning 7-0. That raises their goal difference to minus 107.

Which means they are on the same points and goal difference as Dunstable, and as things stand will stay up on goals scored (35 vs 25). Last thing to decide in the league bar the playoffs.

Dunstable host Gosport on thursday.

šŸ‡²šŸ‡² | Leeds United are delighted to announce the #AYABankTour18, featuring two friendly matches in Myanmar

classy Leeds Utd don't mix football with politics, besides just a little bit of ethnic cleansing and genocide is not something Billy Bremner would have gie a fuck about!

calzino, Tuesday, 24 April 2018 09:34 (six years ago) link

He added: "This was a carefully considered decision and we knew it would be controversial, but this is about people not governments.

"It has never been my intention, nor that of the club, to get involved in a political debate in Myanmar.

"However, if because of the tour we further highlight the ongoing serious issues in certain areas of the country, then maybe that is a positive thing."

yeah I'm sure Liam Cooper has some very interesting and articulate opinions on the geopolitics of southeast Asia and will air them vociferously during the tour. But this thick cunt who owns Leeds has some broadcasting interests in the region and trying to spread the Leeds UTD Brand. Couldn't have happened to a nicer tho!

the funny thing about the Peacocks is that they would have been a much better Mansour investment than Man City were (as was posted by LG on the prem thread), but such is the vagaries of evil oligarchs choosing their playthings, that Leeds have had a succession of terrible owners/asset strippers/clowns/jokers etc in the last 15 years that have ensured their consistent mediocrity with the odd false hope of the bigtime again!

Gosport beat Dunstable tonight to go above them by 2 on goal difference. All to play for on Saturday.

Kings Lynn are now the only other side who can get to 100 points but any of the play off teams can finish second because there's only 3 points between them. Imagine getting 97 points and only finishing 5th.

that is one fucked up top 5.

couple of years ago i don't think i'd be sat here on a Saturday morning wondering if Andre Silva would be a good buy

you're still here ffs

today's a big one for us, speaking of already-promoted teams who should piss off

any good relegation six-pointers?

imago, Saturday, 28 April 2018 09:46 (six years ago) link

yeah that's been the only dark cloud over the season really. Burton could still go on a run tho.

MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman says the prospect of being relegated from League One is "absolutely horrendous".

your mullet looks silly, mister!

calzino, Saturday, 28 April 2018 09:51 (six years ago) link

don't want to curse it, but real Wimbledon being above Franchise would seem a massive moral victory.

calzino, Saturday, 28 April 2018 09:56 (six years ago) link

Charlton's glacial rise up the table is classic League 1, where teams whose results seem pretty indifferent but they remain in contention for the playoffs right to the death. Been there before, multiple times.

calzino, Saturday, 28 April 2018 10:02 (six years ago) link

79-80 was my first season. We were relegated by a mile, so far behind by April we needed snookers, but is it any wonder Iā€™d beg to go every week with this kind of entertainment? pic.twitter.com/ceLN3Jm3wS

I'm not saying non-league pitches are poor quality but we've turned up at St Ives and the ducks will need shooed off before the match can be played.

disgrace from Wolves, Nuno Out.

Birmingham relegation still on but it looks horribly like Reading are gonna let everybody down next week

the vomming of the snark (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 28 April 2018 15:56 (six years ago) link

I always knew Conor Coady would do well and be an influential player somewhere else, didn't realise he was Wolves club captain. For some reason I thought he was a flop at Wolves and out of favour.

calzino, Saturday, 28 April 2018 16:16 (six years ago) link

2 years it took to find his best position, under crappy managers. Nuno turning him into a title-winning sweeper and total rock this season is just one of the great stories we've had.

Danny Batth is still club captain tho officially i think, Coady has been captain on the pitch since Batth isn't making the first team too often lately.

the vomming of the snark (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 28 April 2018 16:31 (six years ago) link

And Gosport survive on the final day. Half their league points of the year came from their last 4 games.
