already listened to that quik album recommended upthread this morning and really enjoyed it. and now i'm currently listening to 9x out of 10 for the billionth time in a row.

Kurupt is way better on 9x but I don't think as songs they're that far off

But kurupt is better than either on 'bacon and eggs'

what the hell is quik on about on "hey playa!"? I swear his verses have zilch to do with anything else in the song.. like kurupt gets it, but quik is all like "I'm going to rap about damnation!"

nb: song is prob all the better for this dissonance

other great thing about "hey playa!": what goes with morrocan blues? why of course drunk new orleans horns shit makes perfect sense

kinda think the thing i love most about this is quik in the middle of the westcoast/morroco storm-in-a-teacup seeing fit to go vaguely whodini horrorcore throughout. zombies! vampires! tales from the crypt! "the voice of great antiquity"! so excellent.
