nice to see Bronze Age Fox getting some airtime elsewhere. if only somebody would release their album.

Seriously? I thought courting hipster c*nts (oh, I'm bitter!) with their shaped 7"s wld've guaranteed a release. I bet they haven't even gotten round to the album. Unless yu mean the EP collection, which I thought was already out?

Nice to see an additional nod for The Boy Least Likely To. Best Belle and Sebastian album of the year.

my favorite thing about it is that, when i was googling the band for information about the song, i stumbled across a morrissey/smiths messageboard where they were discussing the cover and almost all of them were like DEAR GOD THIS IS AN ATROCITY THE WORST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO MANKIND OUR BELOVED MESSIAH RUN THROUGH THE SHITTY SYNTHPOP WRINGER etc etc. so it's classic for that alone. (and not shitty in the least)

Universal Poplab - We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful

Is this a cover of the Morrissey song? How does it sound?

daavid (daavid), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 00:21 (eighteen years ago) link

Yes. It is melodramatic and synthy.

Oh I have to add Alexis Strum's "Nothing Good About this Goodbye", the most perfect pop song I've listened to since, well not 'ever', but close. And this wasn't even released, right?

BAF have recorded an album (not the EP album)

.. they got some funds via sony.

but sony have put the brakes on things.

so the album is good to go, and currently shelved.

only nobody has sorted out the extras.

sure they will get it sorted .. after all they are well known/established and have friends all over the place.

especially now that Dave (aka Minotaur Shock) is a genuine 4AD artist !
