What do you sound like on Nu-ILX?

thanks! listening to sea and cake back in the day opened my mind to a wider variety of rhythmic options than i had heard before -- it was a long time ago but it must be still swirling around in my brain matter :)

my band recorded a whole album last month (my first ever, i'm v nervous but enthusiastic about the final product), and we put out a cover we recorded (which is not on the album) today!

that's me on drums and lead vocals; the recording is kind of a snapshot of my drumming after 2.5 years of learning (so far i'm only self-taught)

This was fun because the other producer wrote the main loop as a demo, so I just got to arrange it into a full track and only think about sounds & layers. I wish I could work like that all the time (also had only one day to get it in, which helped with committing to decisions).

oh lol my kick drum pedal fell apart three songs in and wouldn't stay together after i fixed it but otherwise it was p solid. played in the hot basement of a bar i think we've all vowed to never play again

if you do read it and wonder why we're apparently releasing a "split EP," the dude from the band wanted to buy promo, but he wanted to promote both albums we have coming out this year (one without me, one with me), but he didn't want to PAY to promote two albums, so he apparently told them it's a "split EP" so he could give them tracks from both albums and get them both promoted for the price of one??? i don't know

I liked it, especially the breakdown at the end. The vocals were a little odd at first but they grew on me by the end of the song. Cool stuff!
