Yes, the theory being floated that "maybe the made up the novichok solution in the park!" seems slightly suspect. Part of the problem is that the government has put forward contradictory experts - a few months ago, we were told rain renders it ineffective so there was no lasting threat, now we're being told it's incredibly persistent.

There's a lot of conspiracy theories / perceived inconsistencies about the profile of the people who were affected as well but speculation is kind of pointless when we know so little about any of it.
