some common sense here from S Bush, but most the centrists who bash Corbyn every day for not opposing brexit know very well if he did it would spell his end as Labour leader, which would suit them fine.

I think for some of them (eg Alistair Campbell) it's pretty much the whole point.

That seems to be what Johnson, etc are betting on. No point in resigning yet when there is every chance the EU will reject the proposals.

At some point they might have to admit that there is no one form of Brexit that can get through the Conservative Party, the Commons, the the Lords and the EU. That point probably represents the end of this government in its current form so no surprise they're kicking that can down the road.
