beware of the Quiet Paedo!

calzino, Saturday, 7 July 2018 10:50 (five years ago) link

they're the worst kind

Neymar, Mr Nice Guy (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 7 July 2018 10:51 (five years ago) link

well the most effective anyway

repartee is deft (darraghmac), Saturday, 7 July 2018 20:42 (five years ago) link

The example of Jimmy Savile very much suggests otherwise.

Alan Alba (Tom D.), Saturday, 7 July 2018 20:56 (five years ago) link

was he a noisy paedo or just a noisy fella who was a paedo

repartee is deft (darraghmac), Saturday, 7 July 2018 21:32 (five years ago) link

Cat among the pigeons there.

Alan Alba (Tom D.), Saturday, 7 July 2018 21:45 (five years ago) link

Boris really really really wants to get sacked, dunt he?

Mark G, Sunday, 8 July 2018 08:51 (five years ago) link

it seems May's brand nu brexit package has managed to piss off UK business/right wing hardliners/Dacre-drones/absolutely everybody!

calzino, Sunday, 8 July 2018 09:26 (five years ago) link

“sources warned that May’s customs compromise looked very similar to the “new customs partnership” that the EU rejected as “magical thinking” 11 months ago”

calzino, Sunday, 8 July 2018 09:32 (five years ago) link

That seems to be what Johnson, etc are betting on. No point in resigning yet when there is every chance the EU will reject the proposals.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Sunday, 8 July 2018 09:34 (five years ago) link

At some point they might have to admit that there is no one form of Brexit that can get through the Conservative Party, the Commons, the the Lords and the EU. That point probably represents the end of this government in its current form so no surprise they're kicking that can down the road.

Matt DC, Sunday, 8 July 2018 11:39 (five years ago) link

David Davies has slung his hook.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Sunday, 8 July 2018 22:41 (five years ago) link

stet, Sunday, 8 July 2018 22:44 (five years ago) link

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Sunday, 8 July 2018 23:00 (five years ago) link

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Sunday, 8 July 2018 23:08 (five years ago) link

last thing we need is an autumn election on back of an England world cup win, really need Croatia to gub them now.

he's one of our pwn (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 8 July 2018 23:09 (five years ago) link

I wonder how many letters the 1922 Committee have now.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Sunday, 8 July 2018 23:10 (five years ago) link

Me too. Can this government last? They don't have the votes (on the usual arithmetic) to bring it down, so in theory it can, but how? Is May going to take charge of everything as they resign one by one, until it is just her, alone, delivering The Will?

If it does collapse, I wonder if the successor govt will try to revoke A50 and blame it all on the May admin. This is all too nuts for me now.

stet, Sunday, 8 July 2018 23:13 (five years ago) link

The Guardian goin in pretty hard:

David Davis steps down as Brexit secretary

you don't say...

I keep forgetting Trump is coming this week. He is surely going to volunteer to negotiate

stet, Sunday, 8 July 2018 23:27 (five years ago) link

i'm extremely curious to find out how american-uk trade deal negotiations go after mass protests and floating trump babies.

Britain's Sexiest Cow (jed_), Sunday, 8 July 2018 23:39 (five years ago) link

well, the potentially massive boon of cheap chlorinated chicken and more creeping privatisation of the NHS would be the same deal with any US Pres of recent times tbf.

calzino, Sunday, 8 July 2018 23:45 (five years ago) link

Boris making a statement tomorrow

stet, Sunday, 8 July 2018 23:51 (five years ago) link

Andrew Farrell, Monday, 9 July 2018 06:38 (five years ago) link

Too many xps to count but the replies to that DD letter tweet are like another universe. “The great lost leader”, etc.

May replied and it’s really difficult not to see this as a dig, lol

You returned to Government after nineteen years

Reply & some equally bizarre comments here: https://www.conservativehome.com/parliament/2018/07/mays-response-to-davis-i-do-not-agree-with-your-characterisation-of-the-policy-we-agreed-at-cabinet-on-friday.html
