This mix is great

Thanks, boxedjoy. I heard the Pablo's Eyes comps and was almost surprised by how much I was feeling them. Their Extreme albums didn't make much of an impression on me in the 90s. Also loving that Jason Kolar disc. I don't think it's a reissue though

Not sure that I actually need more music like this in my life but:

(a) loving Arp's Zebra; and

(b) excited for Hatchback's new album based on the single, which is gorgeous.

Tim F, Sunday, 15 July 2018 02:31 (five years ago) link

Whoah!! New Hatchback?

I honestly don't think a single week has passed in the last 7 years without me listening to at least one track from Zeus & Apollo

two weeks pass...

OK so when is the Jolly Mare album coming out?? What happened?

I've been looking forward to it.

Evan, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 05:19 (five years ago) link

Out this Friday I think

groovypanda, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:24 (five years ago) link

Ah, got it. Some other sites were not estimating an actual release date. Even his soundcloud still says June.

I'm not sure if this belongs in here. It's a dub version of a Sade track (I think) on Berceuse Heroique, who usually release extremely unBalearic techno

I’ve been enjoying this.

xp Sade is as Balearic as it gets so that track is a perfect fit for this thread

STROOM 〰 might be giving Music From Memory serious competition in the archival reissue business

Their Ingus Baušķenieks compilation is lovely. What are the best releases on this label? I got their album of unreleased Vazz material last year, that's worth checking out

The Darling album on Young Marco's label "Safe Trip" is lovely stuff, really serene ambient house that owes as much to Gaussian Curve as it does the sounds on those Italian dream house compilations

boxedjoy, Wednesday, 22 August 2018 08:33 (five years ago) link

Wow the Pablo’s Eye records are stunning.

I don't really know Jane Weaver's music (or Stubb, who is another alias of Flash Atkins) but this is lovely - reminds me of the Open Space remix of "Freedom Of The Floor" but a bit more Cocteau Twins

New Domenique Dumont is very good, a little more guitar jammy than the first one. Still fairly brief and beautiful.

"sans cesse mon cheri" in particular is bliss

Pretty sure his Secret Circuit stuff is discussed upthread somewhere. so yes.

Recently been enjoying the Antoine Kogut mini album that taps into the sort of sleazy, Gallic pop that Air, Gainsbourg and Tellier often produce

This is on The Trilogy Tapes, not known for their Balearic releases

This one's from a compilation of Rex Ilusivii's tracks on Versatile from earlier this year. He's also had releases on Vladimir Ivkovic's excellent Offen label
